Book Review - If You Were Me and Lived in...Portugal
About the Book
Award winning and best selling author Carole P. Roman travels to beautiful Portugal. This pro active book invites children to think about Portugal's many wonders from the sunny Azores to the wide variety of food. Roman's If You Were Me books have a simple, winning formula: portray children from other countries and explain how familiar items and customs are the same, and how they differ, in the country being discussed... The appeal of Roman's If You Were Me series is that this information is not offered in the bland style of an encyclopedia entry, but rather as part of a tour of real life in India...It's this organic conversational tone that keeps the book interesting and inspires kids' own curiosity for other cultures." Peter Dabbene The Foreword Review Join Carole P. Roman as she takes you to explore the friendly country of Portugal!
My Take on the Book
Portugal is on my list of places to visit, so this book was one I want very interested in reading. Carole P. Roman's book gives the reader a glimpse of the life one would have if they lived there.
Carole has written an excellent nonfiction story for children and adult. She includes illustrations which supplement the text of the story. I liked the pronunciation guide she included in the text for the unfamiliar words she presented.
Carole gives names for family members, foods, important sites, customs, and more. I believe you will agree that your learned so many interesting facts after reading her book.

Thanks Christopher for another great review. I went to Portugal twenty years ago and left with wonderful memories of warm people and delicious food. I hope you do get there.
