Book Review - The Perfect Seat

The Perfect Seat

About the Book
This child and their parent are almost ready for story time--but first, they must find the perfect seat! This cozy picturebook by Drawn Together author Minh Lê takes readers through various opposites ("Too rough! Too slippery!") as his characters search for just the right spot. Adorable art by acclaimed illustrator Gus Gordon invites adults and children to giggle all the way through to the heartwarming ending, when the answer falls right into their laps.

My Take on the Book
This was a short, but beautiful story that shows a father and child together trying to work to find the perfect spot to read a book. The pictures were wonderful and you see the love that they have for each other. This was a fun book to share with my daughters and you will love doing the same as well.

Book Review - Superman of Smallville

Superman of Smallville

About the Book

Can Superman keep Smallville from going to the dogs?

Acts of awesomeness are happening around town. People are being rescued, runaway tractors stopped, and fires extinguished. This is all in a day's work for the hero known only as "Superman." But who is he, really?

Thirteen-year-old Clark Kent knows. He has a super-secret--one his parents are constantly worried will get out. Clark promises to be extra careful, but when random objects begin to take flight and disappear, his parents threaten to ground him. Except he's innocent! If Superman isn't responsible...who is? Join Clark in this hilarious adventure as he sniffs out the real culprit.

From New York Times--bestselling and Eisner Award-winning creators Art Baltazar and Franco, comes a fun, whimsical story featuring young Lana Lang, Lex Luthor, and of course Clark Kent.

My Take on the Book
This is a great, fun story that lets you look at a young Clark Kent and some of the adventures that he is on as he works to control his powers and keep his secret identity. The book brings in humor, adventure and more into a graphic novel that any Superman fan will want to read!

My Take on the Book
I have been impressed with what Casey has created over the years and this new book encapsulates some of the main tenets that she has been teaching for years. Her philosophy on parenthood is one that all parents can follow. In this book she really brings you through the ups and downs of parenthood. She brings in practical advice that any parent can use. The book, while short has a ton of real life scenarios along with her own experiences to help you on your own parenting journey. I found myself seeing myself in a lot of the scenarios that were presented in the book. The book makes you see your own parenting journey in a new way and by the end you are able to leave the end of the book with some great tips that will start you down a new path of parenting.
