Book Review - Studying is Hard
About the Book
Barron's brand new Life Lessons series uses cheerful illustrations and down-to-earth language to tackle some of life's more challenging issues from a kid's perspective. Whether it's learning the value of hard work, acknowledging that effort impacts educational success, or overcoming adversity, this series encourages and promotes a sense of individual responsibility, while inspiring hope in kids. Studying is Hard teaches kids that learning can be difficult, but it can also be fun!
My Take on the Book
My daughter fights us on doing her homework and some of the reasons behind it go right into the message of this story and the characters within it. Sometimes homework is difficult, and for my daughter she does not like that at all. This book seemed to be talking directly to her and I know that when we read it she mentioned that she was liked it. We talked afterward about some of the challenges that she has and what she thought we could do about it in the upcoming school year, so I hope that through reading this and our conversations we can start some new things for next year (only time will tell). The book though was very well written and illustrated and the message was brought across in a way that all kids can understand!
