My Take on the Book
Mariella Mystery is 9 3/4 years old. She considers herself a young detective and loves to solve mysteries. Mariella is going with friends on a summer camping trip and yes, there is a mystery involved in this trip.
The story does not read like a typical chapter book. It is full of interesting facts and fun entries.
Mariella will write as if she is writing a journal and include photographs and drawings. She will draw a map, define words or describe events and people, and include dialogue.
Mariella and her friends problem solve through this book to solve the mystery of the Yeti that is "terrorizing" the little town. They are perceptive , inquisitive , ask a lot of questions, and are very observant. Of course the mystery is solved at the end of the story.
This book could be an independent read or a good shared read aloud.
