Book Review - Maggie Malone and the Mostly Magical Boots
About the Book
Imagine a Freaky Friday scenario—you wake up in the morning to find yourself in someone else’s shoes. For Maggie Malone, every day is Freaky Friday in MAGGIE MALONE AND THE MOSTLY MAGICAL BOOTS by Jenna McCarthy and Carolyn Evans.
Everything seems to be going wrong in Maggie’s life. She has to move away from her best friend Stella and exclusive private school to huge Pinkerton Middle School—also referred to as Stinkerton—where no one even notices her. What’s worse, her birthday is coming soon and Maggie just knows it won’t go well. She even confirms this when her aunt gifts her a pair of brown worn-out boots—until she puts them on and Frank the Genie appears. Before he can explain anything about her mostly magical boots, Maggie finds herself in the body of tween pop sensation Becca Starr: riding her tour bus, performing before her screaming fans, taking pictures with famous celebrities and so much more.
But being a celebrity has its own price and Maggie discovers that she should be careful what she wishes for….
Maggie and her adventure is stirring excitement everywhere!

My Take on the Book
This was a great book that my 3rd grader loved. She picked it up and could not stop reading. I read along with her and have to say that the characters were wonderful, and made you want to come back for more in the end. You get transported into the story and in the end my daughter even stated "I need a pair of boots like that". Well done on a fun, engaging story that I believe will stand the test of time!
