Book Review - Tom Thumb

About the Book

A stunning collection of Grimms' tales from bestselling author and illustrator Eric Carle!

Eric Carle brings to life four tales written by the brothers Grimm with his gorgeous illustrations and charming retelling of the classic stories. These tales capture the interest and imagination of children and adults alike, showing that while we might wish and wander, we should be grateful for what we have and where we are in life.

Beautifully reissued, this new book has all the enchantment of Eric Carle's art, plus the compelling storytelling and morals of Grimms' tales.

My Take on the Book

Eric Carle brings tales of the Brothers Grimm to lilfe with his gorgeous illustrations and charming retelling of these classic stories.

There four stories included in this book:TOM THUMB, THE FISHERMAN AND HIS WIFE, HANS IN LUCK, THE SEVEN SWABIANS.

Did you know Eric Carle uses painted tissue paper to create his illustrations. Take a close look at the hairs on the pig, the wrinkles on the old man's face and hands, the expressions on the faces of the characters in each story, and the details in the buildings, water, sky, and trees. So much to look at and really appreciate. He is truly gifted .

I believe you and your children will enjoy each story and the lessons that can be learned from each story and take time to explore each illustration in the book. This book is another wonderful addition to the many books written and illustrated by Eric Carle.
