CD Review - Matthew West: The Heart of Christmas

From the Artist
"Since the beginning of my career, I've dreamed of making a Christmas album," says Matthew, "and I'm so excited to finally get that chance this year! The Heart of Christmas is a collection of original songs I've written, and some of my favorite classics. I was honored to have iconic artists like Amy Grant, Vince Gill, and Mandisa from American Idol join me on a few of the songs, and those are personal highlights for me."
"There's just something about Christmas music that can stir up the warmth, the emotion, and the joy of the season. I hope "The Heart of Christmas," can be one of those records people find themselves returning to year after year, and as they do, may they find their hearts returning to the true meaning of this wonderful season." - Matthew West

Product Description
Matthew West returns with his first-ever Christmas album, The Heart of Christmas. Even though this is Matthew's first Christmas album, several of these songs have already received significant airplay at Christian radio, including "One Last Christmas," "Give This Christmas Away," and "Christmas Makes Me Cry." Includes the new single "Heart of Christmas" and several other new songs, and traditional Christmas favorites such as "Silent Night," "Away In A Manger" and "Jingle Bells." This fall, Matthew's music will be featured prominently in an upcoming GMC film, which was inspired by the song "One Last Christmas" and the true story behind it.

My Take on the CD
First this is not your ordinary Christmas CD with the usual familiar songs that we have all enjoyed and sing along when we hear them.
This is a very special CD of not only familiar music but beautiful created songs that Matthew West wrote. Matthew often takes a familiar song and lends his own creative twist on it. You will enjoy what he has done.

I was captivated by his beautiful voice and the clearness of each song's lyrics. You will find it easy to sing along once you hear the refrains. Matthew has written songs that go right to your heart and soul . He deals with the Christian meaning of Christmas and what Jesus's entry into our world meant. Matthew helps us to remember how very fortunate we are to have family who are healthy in the song ONE LAST CHRISTMAS. He helps us remember that Christmas can last all year long as long as we are willing to love and give with a joyful heart.

Amy Grant , Vince Gill and Mandisa join him on this CD with their amazing voices.
This CD is truly a reason to celebrate this young man's creativity, love and thankfulness.

I encourage you to take a look at this CD for yourself.

Your entire family will certainly enjoy this CD. I plan to purchase several for Christmas gifts. Enjoy!

"Christmas" is a must-addition to your Christmas music collection. This collection of songs offers the traditional, laid-back feel that every Christmas album should embody and is reminiscent of albums from great crooners of the past. While many big stars attempt to rework and mangle Christmas song, Michael Buble chooses to showcase his talent by adding his stellar vocals to classic arrangements that need to be done justice, although the album also adds Buble's signature touch to songs such as "All I Want for Christmas is You." After getting this CD, I think Christmas is going to start early this year as I'll be enjoying Michael Buble's songs every day.
