About the Book
Cubby has plans to play the harmonica at Marina the Mermaid's big party tonight. But that sneaky snook Captain Hook has other ideas! Will Cubby be able to strike all the right cords, or will Jake make sure that Hook has to face the music? Find out in this swashbuckling adventure that includes pirate stickers and gold doubloons that little mateys can "earn" along the way.

My Take on the Book
This book was written for 3-5 year old children. It is a board book. The story's main theme is asking nicely for what you want or need. Captain Hook did not like the music being played by Jake and his friends. Instead of asking nicely for the music to change, he stole the harmonica.

The story could give parents an opportunity to discuss with their child the best ways to express their feelings to someone else in a situation that is uncomfortable.
