My Take on the Book
I use devotionals in my daily prayer life, but I will admit this was very different from any devotional I have read before. I was impressed with Lysa Terkeurst's devotional. She is a real woman who has experienced real challenges like we all do in our life. The challenges of home, relationships, work, and spiritual life are all brought to focus in her book.

She tells you not to be afraid or discouraged if you have difficulty with your emotions. She allows you to be real. But she also assists you each day through a scripture reading, daily thought, real life discussions in a narrative which could also lead you to your own experiences, and then a final prayer to think about your day and an issue for that day. She does not chastise you if you cannot be perfect or if your real life brings set backs into your progress.

You will identify with her "discussions" each day . You will identify with the prayer and I found myself adding to the prayer my own thoughts that reflected on the readings and my experiences. If you are a woman searching for a new devotional, I encourage you to take a closer look at Lysa's UNGLUED DEVOTIONAL.
