“…We all want to share this beautiful sport that we love so much. Here’s a big help.”
Until now, parents who want to teach their offspring the sport of fly fishing have been a bit frustrated. There just aren't many opportunities to introduce youngsters to the many exciting and varied aspects of this sport. Thanks to Fanny Krieger's new instructional DVD, Tomorrow's Fly Fishers, parents and role models alike now have a oractical and fun guide through which to familiarize young people with the sport of fly fishing.
Tomorrow's Fly Fishers covers basic skills for the beginning fly fisher, including equipment, casting, entomology, fly tying, wading, reading the water, and landing a fish. Short segments focus on separate instructional areas and allow viewers to stop and ask questions or take a break as needed. The DVD, which runs 43 minutes, also includes bonus chapters with some advanced techniques for the more experiences angler.
My Take on the DVD
As a fisherman myself, I have never really did any fly fishing in the past. The times where I have brought my kids fishing, I have really enjoyed it and they have as well. This DVD was a great one because it spoke directly to kids about the sport of fly fishing, providing both the basic skills as well as even some further advanced techniques that would be good to try once you get into the sport further. This sport looks not only relaxing but also therapeutic in many ways. I look forward to trying this in the future!
