Book Review - Vintage: A Ghost Story

About the Book

A lonely boy walking along a highway one autumn evening meets the boy of his dreams, a boy who happens to have died decades ago and haunts the road. Awkward crushes, both bitter and sweet, lead him to face youthful dreams and childish fears. With its cast of offbeat friends, antiques, and Ouija boards, Vintage is not your typical romance but does offers readers a memorable blend of dark humor, chills and love.

A finalist for the Andre Norton Award and Gaylactic Spectrum Award!

My Take on the Book

At the forefront you would think that this story is about ghosts, and in some ways it is. Yet, it is so much more and the messages held within are much deeper than this. The author takes you on a journey into the life and soul of a misunderstood youth and helps you to come to a better understanding of topics ranging from acceptance, belonging and love as well as much more.

The author has a wonderful way of drawing you into the story itself and you find yourself wanting to know and read more. The characters are well developed and you truly become empathetic to them throughout the story. While I know that I did not have a lot in common with the main character, you still relate and find yourself wishing them the best and hoping amongst hope that things will get better in the end.

This was a great read and one that I would recommend to all!
