Amy Grant

About the CD
The foundation behind Amy Grant’s first full-length studio album in 10 years came from some advice given to her by her late mother – “sing something that matters.” The six-time GRAMMY® Award winner, who releases her 18th studio album today, May 14 is dedicating How Mercy Looks From Here to her mother and drawing from some of her favorite singers and songwriters in what critics are calling her most impactful release to date. The impressive array of talent includes Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Will Hoge, Carole King, Eric Paslay and James Taylor.

The album’s lead track, "Don't Try So Hard," features legendary songwriter James Taylor and continues its rise up the AC monitored chart, jumping 4 spots to #25 this week, and up 6 spots on the National Audience chart to #27.

Grant is also set to tape an interview and performance with WNYC radio's popular Soundcheck show, which will stream live here on the 21st at 2pm ET and is scheduled to air on the station June 25. Additionally, she will take to the outdoor plaza stage, performing on "Fox and Friends" June 22 and appear on ABC's popular lifestyle show "The Chew" on July 19.

Grant's television appearances come on the heels of her extensive press and radio tour which included media spotlights on: CBS This Morning, NPR's Weekend Edition, People.com, Morning Joe on MSNBC, WOR Radio with Rita Cosby, FUSE NEWS and more. How Mercy Looks From Here debuted at No. 1 on the Christian Soundscan and No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album has been declared by critics as a "vibrant," "glowing production" and one of the "best albums of the year."

My Take on the CD
For any Amy Grant fan you have been waiting for this new album for a long time and because of this in first hearing abut this there definitely was hype and build up to what the album would offer in the end. After having a chance to listen to this album I have to say that I was not disappointed. The overall pop style that Amy had provided listeners in the past has become much more introspective, but just as good as ever. I also loved some of the collaborations that she ventured into on this album as they all sounded great together! Best of all though were the words that she shared as these were ones that as always touched the heart and made you want to look at your own life as well, which her songs have always done for me. Wonderful job on a great new album!
