Book Review - Blue 2: A Pop-up Book for Children of All Ages

About the Book
Blue 2 is a beautiful cacophony delighting everyone! From a to z each letter gives a clue to where the Blue 2 is hidden in each of these spectacular pop-up sculptures. There's a glistening Blue 2, a slippery Blue 2, and even a suspended Blue 2. With gleeful helixes, jubilant kookiness, and mobile nonsense, each page will stun with its paper pop-up phenomenon. This sequel to One Red Dot is surely one to treasure.

About the Author
David A. Carter is a master paper engineer who created the Bugs series which has sold over 6 million copies for Little Simon . He is the author and illustrator of the critically acclaimed color series featuring One Red Dot, Blue 2, 600 Black Spots, Yellow Square, and White Noise. He lives in Auburn, California, with his wife and two daughters.

My Take on the Book
This book was an amazing collection of three-dimensional pop-ups that kids love. I have both a 3.5 and a 7 year old and all of them loved searching out the Blue 2 on each of the pages. I also love the ideas that this book promotes which is a love for reading, but larger than that, a love for art and an appreciation for detail. The only caution with this book is that some of the three-dimensional pop-ups are a bit delicate and need to be treated with care so that they will not rip. Other than that though this book is definitely one that I would share with all, and being that the book is a Reading is Fundamental Book this year, it stands for beliefs that I my wife and I stand for and that I know many other families do too.
