About the Author
In 1992, Donna Labermeier (maiden name Levi) graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature. She spent several years working in the banking and investment industry before deciding to begin her career as a stay-at-home mom in 2003. In April of 2009, Donna, who had always been interested in metaphysics, philosophy, and spiritual development, was invited on a trip to Canyon Ranch Health Resort in Tucson, Arizona by her sister, Ginny. Donna had been searching quite some time for a larger purpose in life outside of herself. She found the guidance she was seeking in the peaceful, nurturing environment of Canyon Ranch, where she was introduced to the idea of energy medicine. This belief that we all possess a healing energy inherent in the human body and mind, left Donna with much to contemplate about our physical existence on this planet. It was the beginning of a journey that would change her life forever. A few months later, however, Donna became very ill and had been prescribed stronger and stronger antibiotics. One night during this month long illness, as she was falling asleep, she thought to herself, “What if this medicine doesn’t work? There must be another way for me to heal myself.” And as smoothly as these words spilled from her mind, the story and characters of The Healers came flooding in with such great detail, that the following morning, she began writing everything down. Thus, “The Healers” were born… Donna currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she grew up, with her husband, Jeffrey, and daughters, Liza and Lauren.

My Take on the Book
This book was an engaging read about three main characters and the healing powers that the possess. The book takes the reader on a cross-continental journey and helps the reader to see the power of the human spirit and what any person can do with only the will power to do it. I loved the characters in this story and the author does an amazing job at developing these characters for the reader, but also she shares with the reader a powerful story line that keeps your attention form beginning to end and makes you wonder what will happen next. All-in-all, this was a wonderful story that I would highly recommend!
