These are all great ideas for an active dad. My dad is older and not active. So far he has refused to get a cell phone. I am getting him a cheap SVC cellphone from Tracfone. It has large keys and big print on the screen so he can use it. I will then only phone him on this phone, so that he carries it around. I am mainly worried about his safety. I want him to have a phone on him at all times so that he can call for help in an emergency.

If someone is looking for a gift for a new dad (or soon-to-be dad), John Fuller's new book First Time Dad: The Stuff You Really Need to Know would be a great gift! Read more about it on the author's blog: http://johnfullerblog.com/my-book/

I'm always wondering what to get my dad for a gift. He's got enough video contracts as gifts from me that he hasn't used up yet. I think that Tracfone SVC sounds like a good idea, I've just looked on the web at the price and it only costs $14.99 and the cheapest plan only costs $6.66/month.
Even though this Samsung T155G is cheap it will still impress my dad because he will be able to dial faster on the bigger keys and not have to find his reading glasses to dial the no.'s.
I've heard that Tracfone has a great reputation for coverage, so that's another plus.
Well I think what makes a dad the happiest is to see his family together and being happy that is the best present he could ever want.
