About the Book
Roll Call is a prison list with a cast of characters that include Mexican drug cartels, Southern California street gangs and Hell’s Angels all fighting for their piece of the drug culture. Add an overzealous narcotic detective and a robust prison union and you have the perfect recipe for a revolutionary uprising to begin.
My Take on the Book
This book was gripping. Though the book was long (over 700 pages) I was amazed at finding how quickly I was able to get through the book itself.
The book was engaging, exciting and held a plot that kept you on the edge of your seat. Not only was the book exciting due to the characters within the book, it also made you think about the world around you and made you challenge your perceptions about the prison system and about the people within the system itself.
What I liked about this book was that the author was able to take personal experience and make it tangible and real for the reader. You will truly leave the reading of this book with a different look at what the prison system is in actuality.
