My Take on the Book
This is a chapter book for a young elementary child. It is filled with humor, friendship, problem solving, and the love of family.
Dean and Lou are friends. They each have a pet. Dean has a dog and Lou has a cat. They attend Bonefish Elementary School. Their teacher, Miss Pat,has decided to hold a Kid-Pet Talent Show. So the two friends begin to rehearse their pets for the show.
There are challenges as the two friends try to arrive at the pet show with their families. However when Dean and his dog begin to perform and there are problems, Lou and her cat step in to help. Friendship wins here with the help of a friend.
How nice to read a book where it is more important to help a friend than to be the "sage on the stage".
