Book Review - Be Unstoppable
About the Book
Just in time for end of year goal setting, Alden Mills - creator of the Perfect Pushup and Business Leader - launches Be Unstoppable, Eight Essential Actions to Succeed at Anything. Using the power of a parable and his own experiences as a Navy SEAL and accomplished entrepreneur, Mills teaches his proven framework for success.
BE UNSTOPPABLE is the parable of a young skipper who meets a remarkable, seasoned captain, and this chance meeting changes the young skipper's direction in life. Setting him on course for living his dreams, this charming tale illuminates the eight actions to take to succeed at anything in life, and makes BE UNSTOPPABLE a uniquely effective hybrid of WHO MOVED MY CHEESE and Vince Lombardi-style coaching.
ALDEN MILLS developed his strategy for success as a national rowing champion, a Navy SEAL platoon commander, developer of the Perfect Pushup and Perfect Pullup (more than 6 million products sold to date), and CEO of Perfect Fitness, the 2009 Inc. 500 fastest-growing consumer-product company. Mills makes more than 50 public appearances each year around the U.S. and world, and has been featured on the Today Show and the CBS Morning Show. Perfect Pushups have been highlighted on The Biggest Loser, Conan, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Big Idea, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and have been endorsed by Simon Cowell, Brian Urlacher, Jamie Foxx, and many others.
"This book is the story I want my four sons to follow in life because family and business require essential actions to succeed," says Mr. Mills. "Whether you're the CEO of your family, a start-up, small business owner or president of a Fortune 500 business- these steps are what helped me achieve success while keeping my family grounded at the same time."
My Take on the Book
I am always looking for books that will motivate and inspire and this book does both. This book will give you tangible things that you can do to be able to plan for your future and move forward with your life. Many books like this are geared only towards adults, but this really can be used by all ages and has a message that transcends. I love the idea of being unstoppable and never giving up on what you believe in as this is the way in which I live my own life and the way I hope that my own girls will want to live too. In reading this myself, I find that there are some areas that I need to work on, but also areas where I seem to be doing ok as well (there is always room for personal improvement). This is a solid book with great ideas and resources shared that will open your eyes to the ways in which you too can change to better yourself and your personal situation!
