Book Review - Gandhi: a Manga Biography

About the Book
Gandhi is the one of the most recognizable figures of the 20th Century, known for his non-violent protests and an almost saint-like calm. But how did a shy Indian lawyer become the head of the non-violent movement against the British Raj?

In clear, concise prose and evocative, engaging drawings, award-winning manga artist Kazuki Ebine’s GANDHI: A Manga Biography (Penguin Paperback / 978-0-1-4312024-7 / On Sale: September 27, 2011 / 192 pages / $15.00) shows us the path of Gandhi’s life, from his childhood in India to his studies in England to the beginning of his activism in South Africa and his return to India to lead the movement for independence.

The third in our series of Manga biographies, the life of Gandhi comes vividly to life on the page.

My Take on the Book
This was an amazing graphic novel that documents the life of a great man. I had known some that was in the story itself, but the novel itself opened my eyes to so many things that he did in his lifetime that I was unaware of. Too many of our youth today will grow up not knowing completely of the sacrifice that this man gave for his country and his people, but this book lets his legacy live on!

Whether you know his story or not, this book is a great story that you will want to share with others!
