Book Review - Princess Sophia Gets Scared
About the Book
When Princess Stella is sad, so is everyone else. She must learn how to deal with being sad so the castle can be a happy place once again.
About the Author
Molly Martin has always envisioned herself as a princess. While she doesn't live in a castle or rule over a kingdom, she has made a magical life for herself in Minnesota. Molly enjoys writing on her front porch (which she pretends is a balcony) while sipping tea (okay, it's actually Diet Coke). When she needs extra inspiration, she pulls out her best tiara (which is actually a Minnesota Twins baseball cap) and magic wand (which is a fancy purple pen with a feather on it).
My Take on the Book
Molly Martin has written a series of stories about little princesses and feelings they have. In this particular story Princess Sophia finds there are many things that frighten her: from spiders to dogs, from thunderstorms to speaking in front of the class. It is a wonderful story to springboard a discussion off of with your little princess about the things that scare her. Melanie Florian's illustrations showing Sophie's facial expressions in each situation are priceless.
