Book Review - Chick Pea and the Changing Trees
About the Book
In this charming pull-the-tabs book, preschool children are invited to join Chick Pea and his bluebird friend Sweet Pea as they learn about the changing seasons. Four two-page spreads illustrate the four seasons, showing how an apple tree changes its appearance in response to the passing months of each year. Tabs on every right-hand page are for boys and girls to pull out, presenting them with a different view of the apple tree, as its appearance is transformed from the early to the late weeks of each season. Fall's vivid hues, winter's snowflakes, spring's apple blossoms, and summer's leafy, fruit-laden branches are presented progressively, with appropriate colors for each season.
My Take on the Book
If you are looking for a wonderful book for your preschooler about seasons, this sturdy board book will fit that description. The illustrations are perfect for a preschool child and so is the text. There are pull out sections on the pages that show the tree for each season before and after. It is a book your young child will enjoy reading often.
