Fingerprint, a mobile entertainment network for kids, is teaming up with
TigerFace Games, an award-winning app developer, to deliver seven new collaborative learning apps that allow kids and families to play and learn together. This multi-title release on the Fingerprint Play network is inspired by the power of collaborative learning. Ideal for home or school, these new apps allow kids in groups of two to four players to team up or go head-to-head to hone their math, science and language skills using a single tablet.

Collaborative play and learning – where kids work together to solve problems– is becoming increasingly important. Research has found that collaborative learning helps improve retention, enhance interpersonal skills and even improve time on tasks1. At its core, collaborative learning is about a shared experience and ultimately, about relationships. Technology, and specifically games, can be an ideal tool to get students actively engaged with one another and also with the subject matter.

These new apps by TigerFace bolster Fingerprint’s library to 40 apps that appeal to kids from ages 3-13 and range in flavor from reading and music to math and manners. The new range of collaborative learning apps, available exclusively on the Fingerprint network, includes:
- Sushi Scramble (Language)
- Up to four players work together to collect letters from circling sushi boats and build words to serve up to the hungry customers, while honing their phonics and spelling skills. (Ages 7-11; $2.99; available end of September)
- Equator Premium (Math)
- In this multiplayer, collaborative math game, kids solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems to balance the equator. As the seasons progress, the math puzzles become more challenging. (Ages 5-11; Free - $2.99; available end of September)
- Cosmic Reactor (Math)
- In this head-to-head game, two players compete in seven out-of-this-world math mini-games to become the Cosmic Reactor Champion. Players can customize their levels of difficulty and choose to face off using addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. (Ages 5-11; $2.99)
- Quick Tap Spanish, French, German, Portuguese (Language)
- Quick Tap is a high-speed, head-to-head race where players race to match a foreign word to their English counterpart. Kids square off and learn more than 100 words that range from numbers and colors, to food and animals. There are a total of four Quick Tap language titles. (Ages: 5-11; $1.99)
Additionally, Fingerprint and TigerFace today unveiled a single-reader, science-based interactive story.
- Not Lost in the Universe (Science)
- Kids travel the universe to learn about lasting energy sources (wind, sun, water and heat) in this vibrantly animated interactive story. With five chapters and three mini-games, readers help their brave explorers refuel their power cells and return safely to earth. (Ages: 3-8; Free - $4.99)
Collaborative apps are best played on a tablet and are currently available at the App Store for the iPad.
