My Take on the Book
This is a rhyming story that will delight you and your child. Teddy is a bully and as you read the story, you will see visually how he is mean to the other animals. He deliberately takes food away from them, shakes them from trees, says mean things, and scares little creatures. There is a different Teddy in the evening as he goes home alone.
I love the ending as Teddy tries once again to bully another creature. However this time the bigger bear decides to show Teddy love and kindness. Teddy is transformed and changed. Maybe bullies are not receiving the love , friendship , and kindness they need to become kind and gentle creatures/people.
A good story to talk about, but also to enjoy with the delightful illustrations and rhyming verse.
