ScholarGamers.com Kicks Off Next Competition January 1

ScholarGamers.com kicks off 2011 with a unique opportunity for high school and college age students to make educational financing a top resolution.  Its first monthly scholarship round begins on January 1, enabling students to compete in free flash games for up to $5,000 in scholarship money.  Ten scholarships will be awarded, and any high school, trade school or college student aged 13 and up is eligible to register for the competition.

“The start of a new year is a great time to think about your future goals and resolve to achieve them, and ScholarGamers.com is here to help,” said Angelo Tartaro, founder and CEO, ScholarGamers.com. “In 2011, we’re expanding our audience of tournament participants, increasing the frequency and number of scholarships offered and enhancing the selection of games offered—all with the intent of making the difficult process of financing an education just a bit easier and a lot more fun.”

ScholarGamers launched in November 2010 with a mission of helping students tackle escalating educational costs by providing scholarships to winners of various online games.  ScholarGamers.com recently entered into partnerships with Kitara Media’s Verge Games and independent studio Hard Circle.

ScholarGamers.com offers scholarships of up to $5,000, deposited into a 529 plan for each designated winner.  Competitors are only eligible to win once. ScholarGamers.com will award a total of 128 scholarships in 2011.
