Book Review - Fast Track

About the Book
In FAST TRACK, set in Wisconsin, 25-year-old Lark Chadwick discovers the body of the aunt who raised her after her parents were killed in a car-and-train collision that orphaned her as an infant. A strong-willed woman, Lark sets out to solve the mystery surrounding her aunt’s carbon monoxide poisoning. Lark’s search propels her on a quest to learn more about her past. Lark visits Pine Bluff, the nearby town where her parents’ car was hit by the train. At the office of the local weekly newspaper, Lark discovers an old news clipping that describes the accident. She is astonished to learn stunning details about the crash she'd never been told. Why not?

Lark convinces Lionel Stone, the newspaper's irascible publisher, to let her research and write a follow-up story about the accident. As most reporters quickly learn, someone is lying. Is it the Episcopal priest with the roving eye? The town's enigmatic mayor? The county's "Jovial Giant" of a sheriff? And why is someone trying to kill her?

My Take on the Book
In this novel, the author has provided a quick read that is an amazing page-turner. In only the first few pages you are drawn into the plot, suspense and surprise. I have to say that I liked the main character that the author introduces in this book. She is both fun, likable as well as full of strength.

The book itself is definitely full of suspense. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning tot he end of the book. What I loved most about the book is that it keeps you guessing and just when you think you have figured it out, you are thrown a curve ball and it takes you in another direction. This is the type of book that will make you want to continue the book until the very end!
