My Take on the DVDThis was a funny movie with a great cast. I enjoyed and appreciated what the movie had to say and the way in which the movie shared the message. I have to say that going into this I had not heard anything about the movie, but as I sat down to watch the movie itself, I found that the movie just flew by and that I completely enjoyed what I was watching. On to of all of this the cast did a great job with their characters. You are drawn into the story and come to a better appreciation of the situations and the humor surrounding the story line. All-in-all this was a funny, enjoyable movie that I would highly recommend!

My Take on the Game
With amazing gaphics, sound and plt this game has it all. Though I had not followed the Ben 10 series in the past, I was impressed with the everything that I saw with playing this game. One of the best aspects of the game that I mentioned above already was the ability to change aliens on the fly. I know that I at times will get bored with playing the same character over and over, in this game you are given the opportunity to change this and have some options.

I will say that you do need to beware though as this game is a bit addictive.

My Take on The DVD
We loved this DVD!!! We have seen many Veggie Tale Movies in the past and this one topped the others that we have seen. As always the movie had a positive message and it revolved around honoring your father and mother and telling the truth.

The movie itself was very funny, making it enjoyable for adults to watch along with their children. My daughters asked to watch this DVD more than once already, so I know that the movie was a hit in their books. As I mentioned, based on the content itself, I also believe that it was a great asset for the development of my kids as well.

So if you are looking for a movie that has both humor and meaning, look no further!

Birkenstock - Walking With Support & Style

I was asked by Birkenstock recently to try out their new Boston line of clogs.

I have never been a huge sandle wearer due to the fact that my feet tend to need more support (flat arches) and thus, most sandles tend to leave my ankles and legs hurting. So to be honest I did not know what to expect in trying out the Birkenstocks.

I also did not know a lot about the company prior to getting these shipped to me. I had heard a lot of hype in the past about their products and knew people that had them and raved about them, but I had never owned a pair myself. Some of the things I learned while getting ready for this review was that:

1. All their footware is crafted from cork (talk about green shoes!).
2. Their production lines are exclusively powered by solar energy.
3. 100% of the adhesives used within their shoes are earth friendly.
4. Their shoe boxes are made of 90% post consumer waste.
5. All of their shoes are completely repairable and renewable (which can increase the overall life of your footware)

When I received the clogs, I was impressed first by the exterior. The clogs were sleek and looked to be very comfortable. Yet, the proof is in the pudding as they say and thus as I tried them on I had to be cautious and as always give my honest opinion. As I put them on, the first thing in my mind was WOW, these have awesome support. The clogs themselves have built in arch supports that as as good as the hard inserts I use in my regular shoes. This is a nice plus for me, and I now think that I do have a pair of clogs that will not merely sit on a shelf, but instead will be ones that I can wear without fear of eventual pain.

I also checked out the rest of the Birkenstock product line and have to say that if given the chance, the next pair that I would love to try out would be a part of their shoe line, in particular the Devon, Dark Brown Leather Shoe. I like how this shoe (from the outside at least) looks like a shoe that I could even wear to work. So I would be given foot comfort as well as style, imagine that!

The clogs that received also came with information about the Movie stars that were wearing these as well. I am not the type of person who would be swayed to wear something just because someone else does (especially someone else that makes a ton more money than I do), but I can say that for the money that one would spend on a pair of Birkenstocks, the quality that you receive in return is worth every penny. I now can see why people talk highly of the Birkenstock brand and I will definitely consider other Birkenstock products in the future.

Clever Kids Accessories That Double As Entertainment

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a fun new product with my eldest, Diva-J. The Wallaroo Hat Company’s Art Hat offers kids a practical wearable, washable, crushable hat that your child can design.
Every Art Hat kit contains an adjustable white microfiber bucket hat with contrasting color under the 2 ¼” brim, six nontoxic fabric paints and a paint brush.

The hat itself comes in a small unassuming package that makes you wonder what you have received, but once you unpack everything, you will soon notice that there is a lot of fun in store for your budding artist.

When I showed Diva-J what we were going to do, she was quite excited! One of the nice things about the Art Hat is that it comes with all of the supplies that you will need to complete your project, including hat, paint & brushes. The contrasting colors that the hat comes in allows a little diva to truly stand out and her artwork makes it even more the case. I also like the fact that the hat itself can be mashed up in a billion different ways and it still remains wearable. As any of you with kids know, this is a must!

The Art Hat gives children a way to express themselves in their own creativity and then share with the world their talents. While our hat is currently under construction, I know that when it is done that Diva-J will wear it with pride.

Outside of the Arthat, I spent some time looking at the other products that they offer, and was excited to see that they have some very cool men's hats. I particularly liked the Hobart Hat in Beige & Navy. Not only does this hat have protection to the extent of UPF 50+, but it also is sturdy and I can tell it would last a long time! So maybe some day I will be able to get myself a hat such as this to protect my ever thining hair!
There are many other hats such as this that are very diverse in nature. I am sure that you will be able to find something that interests you or someone in your family!

So if you are looking for a hat that stands out and pushes your child to practice their creativity, this is a great product for you and your family.

Felix Doolittle - A Unique Boutique Stationer

I recently became award of a unique artist who sells his stationary online by the name of Felix Doolittle. If you have never heard of him before welcome to the club. Yet in saying this I have to admit that his artwork is awesome! Pebble.com - A Great New Search Engine For Products You Want

I was searching for a GPS (Something I would love to own someday) and heard about a new website called Pebble.com.  This is a site that not only searches for great deals for you, but also provides you with a Q&A forum to learn more about the product from others who have either used the product, owned the product or the like. You can even leave feedback for products that you own yourself. In learning more about the site, the company itself states that:

Most consumers make purchase decisions without getting all the information they need, which is a huge detriment in our current economy. But with Pebble.com users can get all the information they need to buy products and shop for the lowest prices online.

I found Pebble.com to be a fun way to shop online as it offered everything that I needed in one place to make smart choices in what I potentially wanted to buy. I loved the fact that I could look over what others had said or leave comments myself about what I thought of products I owned myself as when I shop I tend to look for these reviews of common folk like me. The only thing that I found wrong with the site was the lack of reviews currently, but I know that as time goes by and other people find the site and start placing their own reviews on the site that there will be an over-abundance of reviews that will come in the future.

I would recommend that you check out this new site and see if it works for you as well!

I recently heard about a new website that is now available called Coupon Codes. This site does a great job at keeping an updated list of codes that people can use with many vendors to save themselves some money. As a person who loves to save money, this was a great find and one that I would recommend to others, who like myself are looking to save a few bucks here and there.

Book Review - The Well-Behaved Child

I will admit it, we have a challenging 5 year old. We have read many books, and tried many things, but we still have problems with her behavior. J-Mom and I work hard to remain consistent, but overall, consistency with Diva-J does not always seem to work. When I was asked to review this book, I was definitely excited and hopeful for a chance to find some new answers, tactics and techniques that may allow J-Mom and I to be a bit less frustrated and allow the whole family to be having fun together at all times!

In reading this book, I was not disappointed. The author lays out his methodology first (even though you want to skip to the meat of the book), which was good, as it truly debunks many of the parenting skills that we think we should do to go back to some of the skills that we more in place back in the 1950's. Further into the book is where the authors lays out his system. Through practical and real life examples he allows parents to see how easy it can be to take control of their parenting as well as allowing the child to take control of their behavior.

Some of the sections in this book include:

* Essential Discipline Principles
* Essential Discipline Tools
* Perplexing Problems and Simple Solutions
* Not Your Everyday Problems
* General Questions and Answers  

Does this work, I am not totally for certain, but I will admit that I look forward to trying to skills learned in this "workshop in a book."

"Kooky" USB: A fun way to brighten your day!

I was asked recently to try out a new product from EMTEC, called a "Kooky" and are based off the popular character pens known as "Kooky Klickers". As the company states: This product is a

Upon receiving the USB, I immediately noticed the similarity of the Kooky Klicker as Diva-J had been given one of these in the past and she loved it (mostly because it was pink and had crazy hair). The USB that they sent me coincidentally also was pink and had crazy hair on the top. I could see immediately that the company was right in saying that this USB would not easily get lost.

In trying out the Kooky, I found it very easy to use and though Diva-J (my eldest) is not yet old enough to have a need for one of these, I showed it to her none-the-less and as before, she thought it was funny as well as cool. She also asked if she could keep it. I explained to her that we would save it for her for a little while until she was a bit older and needed such an item. Knowing the Diva that she is, the company did a good job in sending the Kooky that they did.

I will also put in a plug here for the fun nature of the product. I think these USB's are just the thing that one needs on a bad day to turn the frown upside down (as we sometimes say to the Divas). The zaney, wacky nature of the characters, bring a smile to one's face whenever you see it.

I would completely recommend the kooky for all of you out there who have school age kids who are starting to need to save pictures, documents or the like. With the 2 GB capacity on the Kooky it will not get filled up too quickly and should not get lost in the milieu of materials that pile up in their backpacks as well, as this thing truly stands out.
