My Take on the Series
I grew up with this series. Before kids were really active as eco-agents, this series challenged all kids to do their part to be a planeteer and help the planet to be stronger. That being said I loved seeing the entire series becoming available. I had wished that this series was available when my kids were young. Even though they are older now, I shared some of the episodes with them and while I think they thought that it was a bit young for them, it definitely brought me back. The series is timeless in the message and I love how it gets kids active to make changes in their own communities!

My Take on the Book
We love Jim Benton and in this book you are going to meet a whole new character that is so much fun. The book brings you hilarity that any preteen or teen would love. The illustrations were fun and engaging. As a family that has three cats of our own we know that cats are unlike other pets. We loved reading about the two cats in the book. These cats are completely different but for them it works. The book has a number of short stories within it that allows you  to get to know the cats even more. he book is full of humor that definitely made my daughters laugh! This was a great book that you will love!

Book Review - Lucy: Speak Out!

My Take on the Book
If you are a fan of The Peanuts, this book will bring you some of the best of Lucy. I loved reading this with my daughter as it really was a fun book with many comic strips that I loved seeing again. There were also a ton of new comics that I had not seen in the past that were so much fun as well. Great illustrations and inking as well as humor that also makes you think! Get ready to get your Lucy on with this great book!

My Take on the Book
This is a great book that really walks you through how to illustrate and create fun cartoons. I loved that the book walks you step by step through the process of creating specific characters. The characters that you can create are fun and can allow you to create some great comics. I tend to make comics for my kids' lunches and this was a great book that allowed me to do just that!

My Take on the Movie
This was a very cute movie, and though there are really no words in the movie, the message comes across without fail. The movie itself is very funny but also has a ton of heart. My kids and I watched this together and we loved watching these new heroins work to thwart a very cruel villain while trying to save their master. The movie was fast-paced and my kids and I loved the characters and the amount of heart that each of the characters brought to the screen. By the end of this film, my girls and I were wanting to see more of Shaun and his family and you leave the film with a smile on your face and with your heart warmed through-and-through!

DVD Review - Digimon Tamers Volume 2

About the DVD
In DIGIMON TAMERS VOLUME 2, the adventures continue with episodes 18-34 of Digimon Season 3! Takato, Henry and Rika, three normal kids who are mega fans of the Digimon card game, quest through the Digital World, which is plagued by wicked Digimon Gods. In an effort to defeat those who seek to annihilate the World’s barriers and networks, they pair up with good Digimon and together battle the heinous forces. But in an epic battle with Meramon the group is split in two, each cast off in a different direction. My Take on the DVD 
Get ready to experience a whole new world in this great collection of episodes in this series. Whether you are a Digimon fan or not you will still enjoy watching this series. The art was strong and the writing solid. Even if you missed the first season you can still catch up with this DVD and there is a lot to catch up on! These characters are doing a bit of everything throughout all of the episodes and this non-going action makes it even more exciting to watch and experience. All-in-all this was a strong character

My Take on the DVD
This is a great collection of Magic School Bus episodes. My girls love learning from Ms. Frizzle and as a parent I like what she teaches too. Each episode teaches something new and interesting to the viewer and the DVD is made to be watched together as a family. That being said this was well made and quite extended. You will get a lot of screen time and learning from watching this!

DVD Review - Slam Dunk: Season 1, Vol. 1

About the DVD
Hanamichi Sakuragi is a high school punk who hates basketball, mostly because the girls he likes always prefer basketball players to him. Things change, however, when he meets the cute and available Haruko Akagi. She loves basketball and thinks Hanamichi has the height and prowess to play. Hanamichi, quite willing to settle for collateral affection, immediately takes up the sport, never mind the fact that he doesn’t know the rules, cannot dribble and is constitutionally unsuited to teamwork and sportsmanship. If playing basketball will get Haruko to look at him then he’ll be a basketball star! However, a weird thing happens to Hanamichi while struggling to make the team and play the game: he kind of starts to like it! And what’s more, he’s getting good.



My Take on the DVD
I had never heard of this series before, but I am always game for a new cartoon so I tried it out. For anyone that likes basketball, this is a series that will keep you going. It is filled with action and a pretty solid plot line too. I liked that the main character has to work to get good at the spot and shows the viewer that it does not come naturally to him. The message behind this is strong and is something that any parent would want their aspiring athlete to hear. Working hard pays off!

My Take on the Series
For anyone who loved this series, you have been anxiously awaiting this to come out for some time and now it is here. Cinedigm did a great job at putting this series back together for all fans and you set the whole first season all in one place which was awesome!  This series has always been a favorite one of mine and I was definitely excited to watch it all again. Cinedigm did a great job at putting this all together and you will appreciate the artistry and overall story if you have never watched this before and you are a Yu-Gi-Oh fan.

If you are a fan of the show, but have not purchased the DVD's in the past, this is a great DVD that will pull some of your favorite episodes together in one place. If you have not kept up with the series you will be impressed with the artistry, plot and action in the series too!

My Take on the Movie
This was a great movie that added much to the first movie in my opinion! I loved how you get to meet back up with your favorite characters from the first movie but also get reintroduced to new ones too. I also appreciated that you were able to learn even more about dragons and what makes them tick. The movie is heartwarming and fun and you get to truly see unconditional love and trust shown throughout the movie. It was also a fun adventure too with some protagonists that were definitely evil and the writers in the movie also put in some funny parts too. All-in-all this was a fun movie for the whole family that I would highly recommend!

My Take on the DVD
This was a great collection of Adventure Time episodes that are a hodge-podge of favorite episodes from throughout the seasons. Even better though was the backpack that you get with this DVD as any fan will love getting into character with this accessory! My favorite episode thus far has to be The Great Bird Man, but all of the ones that I have watched thus far were great and even my daughters loved watching them with me too! The episodes are funny and have a wit all their own. If you have never watched this cartoon before, you have to take some time to check it out for yourself, as you will quickly see why this quirky cartoon grows on you the more that you watch it!

My Take on the DVD
This is a huge set! It has everything in one place. No longer do I have to find a season DVD, as this is the complete set with over 80 hours of Yu-Gi-Oh. I have only scratched the surface on watching this, but in doing so my kids and I had a blast. This DVD truly captures the great artistry of the series itself as well as the action and great episodes that were strewn throughout the series itself. If you are a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh I highly recommend this! While I know the price may seem high, for what you get in the end, it is definitely worth it!

My Take on the Movie
This was a very creative movie that weaves together a unique story with beautiful illustration. I have to be honest and say that I think the story was made more for adults than kids, as the messages are deep and dark at points and the subject matter was sometimes a bit too mature for young eyes (in my perspective).

The music and animation were wonderful and there are so many hidden gems in both that you will find.

The message of living without regret and loving to the fullest no matter what the cost was a message you do not always see in movies, met alone animated ones, so this was a fresh perspective and something new!

The only other thing that I will add is that I am not for certain on how I like the character of Joe. In watching this, I don't know that his character was needed and that the addition of him really just muddled the waters. I felt that the movie could have explained and shared some of the same points without the darkness of Joe himself.

All-in-all this was a unique movie that was unlike many animated films that I have seen.

My Take on the Book
This was a fun DVD that has Doc having some great new experiences. My youngest loves watching Doc being a great doctor and now she even says she wants to be a animal doctor (as she calls it) to help animals like Doc helps her own friends. The best part from my perspective is the family friendly messages that are placed in the plot as they are definitely messages that I want my girls learning and living. See friendship, teamwork and so much more when you watch this great new DVD!
