About the Series

Meet Frank Gallagher (series star William H. Macy): proud, working-class patriarch to a motley brood of six smart, spirited and independent kids who, without him, would be... better off. In Frank's booze-addled view, parenting just eats into his hard-earned bar-crawling time around Chicago -- so he leaves it to eldest daughter Fiona (series star Emmy Rossum) to hold down the fort. Bearing the de facto parent badge/burden, she's donned the proverbial apron and makes sure her younger siblings do their chores, keep a clean-ish home, and everyone (no matter how small) works to keep the house lights on, as well as food on the table. Brothers Lip (series star Jeremy Allen White), Ian (series star Cameron Monaghan) and Carl (series star Ethan Cutkosky) use their intellect to break every rule in the book to survive and make the bank, while younger sister Debbie (series star Emma Kenney) would sooner steal her share. Toddler Liam, the youngest, is just happy to be along for the ride. The Gallaghers are irreverent, endearing, resilient -- and they're absolutely, wildly and unapologetically SHAMELESS.


My Take on the Series

Having just finished Shameless - The Complete Series, I can confidently say this show is a rollercoaster of raw emotion, dark humor, and unpredictable chaos. From the very first episode, the Gallagher family pulls you into their world of dysfunction and resilience. William H. Macy’s portrayal of Frank is both frustrating and mesmerizing—his drunken rants and questionable parenting make him one of television’s most complex characters. Meanwhile, Emmy Rossum’s Fiona is the glue holding everything together, her performance filled with heartache and determination.

What makes Shameless stand out is its ability to balance humor with gut-wrenching drama. Each character grows in unexpected ways, making it impossible not to get attached. While the show loses some of its charm after Fiona’s departure, it remains compelling through its final season. If you enjoy unapologetic storytelling with flawed yet loveable characters, this collection is a must-have. Just be prepared for an emotional ride!

My Take on the Series

I’ve gotten a peek at the Blu-Ray release of the complete fifth season of Rick and Morty and it is definitely worth checking out.

This series bluray has a ton of amazing special features. Picking up this set will give you access to 61 episodes and if you are a big Rick and Morty fan, this is a set you will not want to miss! 

I also loved the bonus features on this set and the fact that you DO get all of Season 6 and not just a portion of the season!

This is truly a set for all true fans!!

My Take on the DVD

I loved the original show so I could not wait to watch this as well. Not only do you get great chracters, but great stories too. This set is definitely worth the time and by the end you will be asking for more (I know I was). The Blu-ray was so much fun and I was laughing so much throughout the entire time. If you are a fan of Adventure Time already or if this is your first time, take the time to check this out for yourself, you will not regret it!!

My Take on the Series

I’ve gotten a peek at the Blu-Ray release of the complete fifth season of Rick and Morty and it is definitely worth checking out.

This series bluray has a ton of amazing special features. Picking up this set will give you access to all ten episodes of season 5 as well as the other seasons too. This is a must have for any Rick & Morty fan. Inside of the bonus features you will also get some cool featurettes like “Fighting Gravity” which is exclusive to the release of Rick and Morty season 5. This is a feature where Dan Harmon and the crew of Rick and Morty talk about the challenges that went into making the season during the pandemic, not an easy endeavor to say the least. Aside from re-watching the episodes of season 5, this feature alone makes the set worth picking up.

My Take on the DVD
This is a great season! I loved seeing how well the characters came together to get out of the mirrorverse as well as fixing and freeing the speed force throughout this season. I loved seeing all of the new characters throughout the season, but also the characters that we know and love. Each season for me gets better and better, but this season stood out when it came to looking at Iris West-Allen and how the mirrorverse impacts her and her relationships with others. On top of this, you get to see some characters leaving the show and some coming back and in the end you really get a great season that allows you to look forward to season eight. All-in-all if you love The Flash, you will love this season too!

About the Real-Life Stubby: Before he was a hero, Stubby was homeless, unwanted, unwashed and unloved, scrounging for scraps on the streets until he was taken in by Private First Class Robert Conroy of the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th “Yankee” Division.

In France, Stubby saw frontline action in four offensives and 17 battles. He found wounded soldiers, saved an entire company by alerting the men to don gas masks and even caught a German spy. After the recapture of Château-Thierry, the women of the town made him an embroidered jacket that would serve as Stubby’s uniform and display his numerous awards throughout the rest of his career.

Returning home to a hero’s welcome, Stubby and Conroy toured the country leading victory parades and met three sitting U.S. presidents, among other honors.



My Take on the Book
I have heard about Sgt. Stubby in the past but this was the first in-depth examination of the dog in a fun, family-friendly way. In watching this as a family I found that this movie to be a fun movie that really was inspirational. This movie really showed how Stubby went from street dog to K9, You also get to see the very unique and special relationship that Stubby has with Robert Conroy. This was a powerful story that everyone should see that shows you the power of this special relationship and the power of the love between dog and friend. Come and learn about the amazing feats of this great dog!

DVD Review - The Flash: The Complete Fourth Season

About the DVD

Last season, Barry Allen aka The Flash (Grant Gustin) used his extraordinary abilities to travel back in time and save his mother’s life, and inadvertently created an alternate timeline known as Flashpoint. The phenomenon not only gave birth to the villainous God of Speed known as Savitar, but changed the lives of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) forever. With the help of his adoptive father, Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), his fiancé Iris West (Candice Patton), and his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs – Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) -- Barry continues to protect the people of Central City from the meta-humans that threaten it. But first, he’ll have to escape the Speed Force – an extra-dimensional entity teeming with unknown dangers – that Barry sacrificed himself to in order to save Central City.



My Take on the DVD
This was a great season! Season three really left you on pins and needles and in this season you get a villain you will love and throughout the season you will be left wondering what will happen next. Of course by the end of the season you get another cliff-hanger but that is something that I know I have come to expect when it comes to this series. This season The Thinker really was a villain you could come to despise and throughout the season you do wonder whether Marlize will remain true to her husband and his plan. I won't throw any spoilers into the mix, but the season keeps you watching and guessing from episode to episode which is something that I appreciated. This season also introduces you to another character that is somewhat of an enigma until the end of the season and you can tell that season five will be strewn with her and the rest of Team Flash!

My Take on the DVD
I had seen this in the theater and loved seeing it in IMAX. This DVD version loses some of the IMAX feel but you still get to experience the National Parks in a whole new way. The imagery within the parks were remarkable. I have visited some of these parks in the past but there were others that have been on my list. If you have or have not visited our National Parks in the past this movie will open a window into these wonderful locations!

DVD Review - Gravity Falls: The Complete Series

My Take on the DVD
This is an amazing set for anyone that is a Gravity Falls fan. This will give you the entire series so you can get a chance to see everything. My daughter and I had just started to watch this series before we got this and now we had the chance to see even more. This summer we had more time to binge watch this and I can tell you that the more we saw the more that we loved the characters and the plot of the entire series.

DVD Review - The Miracle Season

About the Book
Helen Hunt and William Hurt co-star in the inspiring true story of a volleyball team that bands together to compete for a championship after the tragic loss of their star player.


My Take on the Movie
This was a powerful movie that made me think of movies such as Hoosiers or Miracle, where the team has to overcome great obstacles to achieve their goals. While the movie is not that simple, it did remind me of other movies like this. This movie looks at a volleyball team that won a championship in 2010 but prior to the 2011 season they lose their team captain to a car accident. This movie explores how the coach has to work to rally the team and bring the team together to see if they can go for another championship run. While you may guess that you will know where this going you will still be drawn in and you will want to see what happens in the end. This was a inspirational movie that you and your family will love to watch together!

PBS Distribution announced it is releasing the new DVD Mister Rogers' Neighborhood: It's a Beautiful Day.”This special set of 32 memorable episodes and over 15 hours of content celebrates the 50th anniversary of the beloved Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, the pioneering children’s television series from The Fred Rogers Company. Mister Rogers helps children learn the importance of being kind to others, appreciating what makes everyone unique, recycling and taking care of our planet, and much more in the classic series. The new release also includes a very special bonus episode – the series premiere, in original black-and-white!



“MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD: IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY COLLECTION” will be available on March 27, 2018 ($19.99 SRP). The four-disc collection has a total run time of 928 minutes. Episodes of the program are also available for digital download.

My Take on the DVD
I have always been a fan of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood ever since I was a kid. This DVD has a great mix of episodes that really brought me back. Each disc had 7-8 episodes on it and you get 31 episodes in all. Each episode had such amazing messages that Mr. Rogers would share with so many. For the price that you pay you get so much. I loved sharing this with my daughters. At first they did not know what to think, but after a few episodes they seemed to like them as much as I did.

DVD Review - Digimon Adventure tri: Loss

About the DVD
Digimon Adventure tri: Loss is the fourth in a series of six feature length movies. After the “reboot” and Meicoomon’s rampage, Tai and friends arrive in the Digital World. They reunite with their partner Digimon, who have lost all their memories. As everyone discusses what they should do from here in the Digital World, Meicoomon suddenly appears and then disappears. She still has her memories for some reason as she wanders around, looking for Meiko. Meanwhile in the real world, Nishijima receives word that Himekawa has gone missing. As he investigates, he determines that there’s been some hidden agenda behind her behavior up to this point. My Take on the DVD
We were very happy to see that Digimon is back. My daughters and I have loved watching these episodes in the past and this DVD set was no different. This is a great DVD that has some great episodes. Watching this you do get a better understanding of what many of the characters are doing after their adventures which was a ton of fun to see.

DVD Review - Digimon Adventure Tri.: Confession

About the DVD
Tai and his friends are haunted by the infection that resulted in Meicoomon destroying Leomon. What could have caused it? When did it occur? Now, all of the Digimon are quarantined, in hopes that answers can be found and the infection can be stopped. Unfortunately, one of the quarantined Digimon is already showing symptoms.



My Take on the DVD
We have loved watching this series in the past and we were excited to see this new DVD as well. This DVD had a great movie on it that I had not seen in the past. This DVD really allowed you to get in deep into the Digimon world. This movie had some great characters as well as a great plot too. This movie had some great adventure and was very fast paced too. I loved the movie and you will too!

My Take on the Book
This was a great DVD for anyone that loves My Little Pony. My daughters have continued to be fans of these great characters especially with the fun adventures that they have. The characters in this DVD are great and the artists have really captured the personalities within the episodes. While we had not seen these episodes before, it was a lot of fun to watch with my girls and I coud tell that they enjoyed the experience too!

This was a great DVD. My kids have loved watching the Mickey Mouse and friends cartoons that have been on the Disney Channel lately. This DVD has a ton of great episodes that are both spooky and fun. My Take on the DVD
This is a series that keeps on giving. As someone that watches this, I can tell you that every episode draws you in with the characters, the drama and more. The actors truly embody characters that you will want to know and you will continue to hope that Elizabeth and Jack will get married and that Abigail will be able to run the town of Hope Valley with grace, and leadership. On top of this you get some action and surprises along the way as well and in season four this is no different. This is a great season and you will truly get drawn into the whole season, I know that my wife and I were!

My Take on the series
Oh my gosh, I am so happy that Shout Factory had the ability to put together this whole series. I was a fan when I was younger and still am one now too. This series is so funny and even watching today, the humor continues to crack me up! This is a HUGE set with 170 episodes so if you are a fan get ready to laugh and have a great time as you to through this series of 6 DVD's. The recordings are great and you will love the acting of Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor, I know I did and still do to this day! I also would be remiss to forget Mr. Haney who always brought me into hysterics as well. This series is a perfect gift for any fan of this memorable series!
