My Take on the Game
My kids and I enjoy watching this show on television, so I was intrigued to see what the game would be like once we received it. What was interesting about the game was that it had a great storyline and followed the cartoon quite well in regards to the characterization of the characters. The gameplay was interactive and the graphics were quite similar to what you would see in the show itself. If you are already a fan of Adventure Time, you are going to love this game, I know that my daughter and I both did!

My Take on the Game
The crazy antics of the Rabbids are back with a vengeance in this game. If you have never played this game or seen the twister humor of the Rabbids, you are in for a surprise as these are not your fluffy gentle bunnies. This game was a lot of fun and you not only get to have a blast through the regular play, but also have a ton of opportunities of side experiences through the many mini games that are provided in the game itself. The game play was a lot of fun and the graphics were great, especially when you use the 3DS features of the system itself. I kept wanting to see what the Rabbids would do next so I was drawn in from the beginning and did not want to stop playing (but alas I had to ever once in a while). Overall though this was a lot of fun, and will provide you with hours of distraction that is worth it!

  • Story Cutscenes - Detailed cutscenes present key story elements featuring the player's character, the Winx Club fairies, and other key characters helping with party themes and planning.

My Take on the Game
This was a fun game with a number of added in mini games within the game itself. I gave this to my daughter to play and she had a blast. It was the type of game that had her coming back for more and she really enjoyed the whole game. The graphics were pretty good, and the overall game play was interactive and engaging. My daughter did say that it was not as difficult as she would have thought it might be, but that did not stop her from playing the game, and instead she kept working on the game and I think this will keep going like this for some time. If you are a fun of the Winx Club you will love this game and I highly recommend it as a fun game that will provide hours and hours of extended fun!

My Take on the Game
The game was fun and you get to play the character of buck. My daughters would have preferred to have had the opportunity to be one of the other characters, but she still enjoyed the graphics and the game play. I tried out the game myself and found that the game took a little time to get used to, especially in regards to the manipulation of the characters. Once I figured it out I was fine, it just took a little longer than I would have expected (My daughter had no probs which makes me feel old). Overall the game was fun and the graphics were amazing. Any fan of the Ice Age series will completely love this game!

Game Review - Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece

About the Game
Elmo's Musical Monsterpiece is a new game for the Nintendo Wii and DS that kids will be able to rock out with their favorite Sesame Street characters, engaging in activities that promote musical creativity and dancing. The game also manages to throw in a few activities designed to foster development of math skills through connections between math and music. The in-game music comes from eclectic Los Angeles band Ozomatli, who use a wide range of styles in their music - ideal for kids who need a lot of variety. Ozomatli is also no stranger to lending their work to the video game world, with songs featured in many prominent sports games, so their work should feel natural on these new Nintendo Wii and DS games. The game is simple enough for toddlers to play without too much help, but there is plenty of room for parents to get involved and get in some playtime with their kids.

My Take on the Games
I was lucky enough to try out both versions of this game for WII and Nintendo DS and I have to say that both were engaging, fun games that really encourage kids to get up and dance, but even better (in my humble opinion) was the music that the children could make while playing the game. My daughter loved playing the game and seeing what she could create music wise (as she already loved to sing). The games remind me some of the Ready, Set, Grover! game that came out a while back, as it gets the kids playing to jump and move to accomplish tasks and to be able to take control of the characters. As I mentioned, my daughter just loved the games and I now know that this will be a great addition to our family game collection for the foreseeable future!

D3Publisher has secured the licensed rights to develop and publish the video games based on the upcoming DreamWorks Animation feature films Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted and Rise of the Guardians in 2012 and The Croods in 2013.

“The upcoming video games based on the DreamWorks Animation films truly fit our commitment to making fun games that are enjoyable and accessible for the whole family across many platforms and handhelds,” said Bill Anker, vice president of business development and licensing, D3P. “We look forward to working closely with the DreamWorks Animation team to deliver an authentic and compelling gameplay experience that will take the adventures in exciting new directions inspired by the films.”

“D3Publisher has a wealth of experience in both the creative development and marketing of family friendly licensed games," said Chris Hewish, head of global interactive for DreamWorks Animation. "This, along with their proven track record, makes them an ideal interactive partner for our next three films.”

Madagascar 3: The Video Game will be available in June to coincide with theatrical release of the film on June 8, 2012 in North America. In an adventure-filled tour across Europe with a traveling circus; players can take on the role of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo in a journey to escape the evil clutches of crazed animal control officer Captain Chantal Dubois and return home to New York City. The blockbuster Madagascar films have captivated moviegoers across the globe and have collectively grossed over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Coming this holiday season 2012, DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians is an epic adventure that tells the story of a group of heroes – each with extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world. In the video game, players will team up as the Guardians and battle Pitch to help restore the world’s belief.

The Croods takes us back to the beginning - to a previously undiscovered era known as the Croodacious - a time when Mother Nature was still experimenting and the flora and fauna we know today had yet to evolve. At the heart of this comically chaotic world is the Crood family, led by Grug, an over-protective father who, like all dads, is doing everything he can to hold his family together as the world around them changes at a dramatic pace. The Croods is scheduled for release in the spring of 2013.

Players will take a wild journey above and beyond the wacky storyline of the movie in a new side-scrolling/platform adventure. Experience the excitement of the circus as you complete challenging and sometimes suspiciously zany missions given to you by the Penguins, explore the streets of Europe as you collect ticket stubs to unlock amazing circus abilities, and dazzle the crowd with extraordinary acts fit only for a Madagascar-style circus extravaganza! All the Madagascar friends are along for the ride in this comedic circus adventure including King Julien, Maurice and Mort, the Penguins, plus their new circus pals Stefano the sea lion, Vitaly the Siberian tiger, Sonya the bear, and Gia the jaguar.

Game Features

  • Play as your favorite Madagascar Characters - Play in the role of your favorite Madagascar characters including Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe in a wild circus adventure across some of the most iconic European locations from the movie and beyond.
  • Bring the exciting Madagascar circus to Life - Perform show-stopping circus acts and experience the thrill of the show through fun circus mini-games and dazzle the crowd with an amazing ensemble of daring acrobatics and extraordinary stunts!
  • Experience a wild new adventure - Jump, swim, and soar across multiple challenges that puts your favorite Madagascar friends exploring some of Europe's most famous locations. Perform wild circus stunts, put up posters, and create hype for your circus performance, all while avoiding those pesky animal control officers and take your favorite crew back home to The Big Apple.

My Take on the Games
I had the opportunity to try out both the WII and Nintendo DS versions of this game and I have to say that both were very enjoyable. While the movie is not even out yet, the games gave me an idea of what I would find in the movie itself and for that I was appreciative. I enjoyed the first few Madagascar movies and this one looks like (at least from the trailers and the games) to have a similar humor style as well as the same fun-loving characters that you have met in the past (I love the penguins)!

In regards to the games though, I have to say that first the graphics were amazing as the images just leaped off the screen. On top of this, the interplay between the graphics and the game play worked and I had no problems overall with the way in which the game played. I did have a little bit of quirky action when using the cannon to shoot Marty, but once I got the hang of it I think it was user error on my part!

I also have to say that being able to play as your favorite character or to simply switch characters was great and when I let my eldest daughter play this she too enjoyed this feature as she could not choose which character that she wanted to be!

All-in-all the circus action was enjoyable and both games drew us in and held out attention and had us playing for quite some time, so I guess I can say that we were thoroughly entertained! I highly encourage either or both of these games to all!

My Take on the Game
My daughter is a BIG fan of iCarly and while I have not really gotten into this, I did try out this game as well as giving it to my daughter for her take. I have to say that the game had some very fun components to it that even the non-fan of the show can enjoy! For me, I have to say that I probably enjoyed most the differing levels and variety that you have throughout the game. My daughter, on the other hand, was completely in awe of the game. As a true and loyal fan she found the game to be amazing as it had all of her favorite characters as well as the venues that are true to the show itself. As I mentioned I have not watched the show, but my daughter told me that the game follows the show quite well and she said how much she enjoyed the graphics and the game play itself. I think for her, her favorite aspect was being able to make the different types of foods for people, but she will tell you that the entire game was great!

My Take on the Game
I had the opportunity to try out both the WII and Nintendo 3DS versions of this game and as I wrote in my WII review, what I like about this game is that it ties the movie into the world of gaming through great graphics and an engaging storyline. The Nintendo 3DS game is no different in this light. I actually really enjoyed the 3DS version, especially because of the 3D components that the game offers. The colors and the graphics just jump off of the 3DS player and I could not ask for more. The story is also fun and one component that I really enjoyed was the part in the game where you get to control the plane. In saying this though there were so many different parts of the game that were enjoyable, and I think you will find this to be the case as well!

My Take on the Game
My seven year old loved this game, she would sit and play it for hours if I would let her, though I won't. The graphics and game play on the game itself were fun and you will find that it is worth the time to check out if you do have a Zhu Zhu Pets lover in your home. What my daughter liked the best was that you could go from one character to the next without any issues. She really liked the characters and she found that she was challenged on some of the levels while on others there was less challenge so overall it was a good balance of the two!

My Take on the Game
I had the opportunity to review both the Nintendo WII and DS versions of this game and I have to tell you that if you are a Power Rangers fan, you will love these games. In both games the main objective is the same and many of the main features are the same. There are some differences in regards to overall graphics, but functionality and game play remain similar throughout. As you would guess one of the things that the WII does allow that the DS does not is the ability to play two players. This option is nice in my home where my kids always want to get in on the game play. My daughter really liked the fact that you could choose which Power Ranger that you wanted to be. Outside of this though the graphics were great in both versions. The WII captures some of the intricate nature of the graphics due to its ability to be on a larger screen format, but the DS holds its own as well. The music is fun and is a great backdrop for the gameplay and the levels and game itself was engaging and overall a ton of fun to play. This has provided my family with hours of fun already and we have only had it for a short period of time and I know that you will find this to be the same as well.
