Book Review - Relaxations: Big Tools for Little Warriors
About the Book
Relaxations is a guide on mindfulness techniques for children ages 4 to 8. Creative metaphors work to help children achieve a state of calm and concentration through breathing, relaxation, and visualization. This book uses gentle affirmations to improve and enhance confidence, self-esteem, concentration, and creativity! Includes a “Note to Parents and Caregivers” by the author with other suggestions for practice.
My Take on the Book
So many kids are dealing with stress in many ways and it manifests itself in ways you may not expect. This book explores some of the basic concepts of relaxation and how you and your kids can find more ways to relax. My daughter and I tried this ourselves and we found that the instructions and explanations were very clear. The visualization and breathing exercises were great and really allowed you to find an inner-calm within yourself. This is a great book that I highly recommend!
