About the Book It's a busy day at Doc's clinic! First, kids can read "Righty on Lefty" and help Doc figure out why Awesome Guy isn't feeling so awesome. Then, flip the book over and read how Doc helps Bella Ballerina when she falls and breaks her leg. This "double feature" also includes two sheets of colorful stickers for even more Doc McStuffins fun!
My Take on the Book
The two stories are within one book. Both stories are perfect for 3-5 year old children. The illustrations are colorful and copy the characters in the popular TV series. The text is simple enough for young children to understand. Plus there are lessons to learn in these two stories.
Bella's Big Break: Bella is a ballerina . She breaks her leg and Doc McStuffins repairs the break. Because of the break, your child can learn some good advice concerning the care of broken arms or legs, how they are treated, and what kind of care the child and parents need to be aware of during the healing process. This book is a good introduction to broken limbs.
Awesome Guy to the Rescue: Awesome Guy is tough and he thinks he can handle any situation. When he is not feeling well, he pretends he is feeling fine and Doc McStuffins must find a way to check him out because he won't admit he needs help. With the help of the other animal friends Awesome Guy receives the care he needs. The lesson in this story is that it is OK to cry when you are hurt. It is OK to ask for help. We should not be afraid to ask for help when we are hurt.
