READ CONMIGO: A GREAT (FREE) GIFT FOR FAMILIES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

What is Read Conmigo?
Read Conmigo, sponsored by Infinity Auto Insurance, is the parent-focused bilingual literacy campaign that provides parents with free books and resources to support reading with their children at home. The campaign launched in March of 2011, and has already distributed more than 350,000 free books to classrooms and families.

Why is a Read Conmigo free subscription a great Holiday gift for parents? Read Conmigo books feature creative, fresh and engaging stories in both English and Spanish, so that parents and children can read aloud together. The campaign promotes the distinct educational, social, and financial benefits of bilingualism and provides parents with free tools and resources to help them create a lifelong love of reading. Many Latino parents who do not read fluently yet in English are hesitant to read to their children at home in Spanish, yet bilingual reading together is just as effective at building good reading skills. This helps students raise their reading levels and succeed in the classroom, and fosters a positive learning environment. The books are also helpful for Hispanics who want to nurture their children's Spanish fluency, and are great for all parents who want to encouraging reading together at home and learning a second language.

How Do Parents Participate in the Read Conmigo Campaign? Parents of children in grades K through 5 can register online to receive free bilingual children's books every second month, at www.readconmigo.org. There is no cost for shipping for residents of California, Florida, Texas, Arizona and Alabama (all others receive free e-books).

How Do Teachers Use Read Conmigo Resources? The program is utilized by more than 6,000 educators nationwide. Teachers can learn about the program and sign up for a one-time shipment of free children's books at www.readconmigo.org.

How Does Infinity Auto Insurance Engage Communities Via Read Conmigo? Read Conmigo also creates publishing opportunities and exposure for up and coming Latino authors and illustrators. Along with these new Read Conmigo authors and illustrators, Infinity Auto Insurance employees engage their communities at family-focused special events, schools and libraries with book-signings and resources fostering bilingual literacy in young readers

This reads like an advertisement for Infinity Insurance and their program, not an actual review. Let me guess? This "Diva Dad" works in the company's marketing department? FAIL!

No, I do not work for them... they asked me to tell people about it...and after I looked into it, I decided to share. I was not paid for this nor do I work for them.

I DO work for Infinity's marketing department (I be the graphic artist) and work with the RC program. I can say that I do not know "Dad of Divas" so unless Greg has an alter ego, this review is legit.

P.S. Found the review when looking for RC on-line to see what was currently being said about it.
