Top Selling Teen App Creator Louise Palanker Answers Thousands of Kids’ Questions with Journals: Middle School Love and War

As Senior VP of Creative and co-founder of Premiere Radio Networks, Louise has written, produced, and performed in over 20 programs in the arenas of radio, television, stage and stand-up comedy. Louise is also a passionate advocate for teen causes and theauthor of the semi-autobiographical young adult novel Journals, which has been a recurring iTunes Staff Pick. Inspired by the overwhelmingly positive response from teens, Louise recently turned her book into a free, interactive book app, titled Journals: Middle School Love and War. Since the first version of the app launched in 2009, it has been downloaded almost 40,000 times. In an age where physical communication has become overshadowed by technical social networking, Louise answers thousands of heartfelt questions from kids aged 9-17, in-app, on topics such as “Am I too young to date?” “Why is my mom so mean?” and “How can I tell if he likes me?”

Louise's vision is to create a strong, active community around Journals that fosters open dialogue between parents and teens about the tough questions of growing up: boys, girls, friends, dating, popularity, love, sex and family issues. In version 2.0 of the app, out now for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, Louise has also added an innovative, lockable “Ask-Me Diary” that gives Journals readers questions for each day to help them get past their fears of expressing themselves and enables diary users to post entries onto social networks if they wish, including Facebook and Tumblr. Inspired by the popularity of the Journals “Ask The Author” feature, Palanker recently launched the ‘Journals: Out Loud’ podcast, The show airs live on BlogTalkRadio and UStream Tuesdays 8-9 pm (Pacific), and features a team of teens who assist Louise as she answers
listeners’ questions.

I would love to speak with you about featuring a news item or interview with Louise Palanker in your publication. With the holidays fast approaching, and technology being one of the top sellers, what better gift
can be given than the opportunity for parents and teens to strengthen and build upon their relationship in a safe and welcoming community.
