My Take on the DVDIf you have never seen this show in the past, this DVD is a great one to add to your collection, especially in time for Halloween! What was fun about this series was the idea that these monsters are in training so they sometimes get scaring right, while at other times they make mistakes and get themselves in a bit of trouble. One of the strong things about this show were the actors that they had in the show (as listed above). They all did a great job and with the strong writing of the overall show, you cannot ask for more. This was a show that I used to love to watch and I always remembered how well the writers captured and developed a world unlike any other. In watching this collection, my memories were dusted off and I have to say that I still believe that this is a great series that all should watch and enjoy!

When Joe's mom breaks her big left toe, Bob the Tomato decides to help. Larry and Joe offer their 'superhero' help, too, but that's not exactly what Bob has in mind. My Take on the DVD
This DVD worked really well with opening communication with my own kids about the importance of helping around the house and helping in general. We also used this to talk about the concepts of gratitude and giving back to others for all they they do for you. This was timely as we found that our girls were sometimes taking advantage of their mom and dad and I liked the fact that this provided an outside voice to reinforce the message that my wife and I would like to instill in our daughters. As always this movie was well made and developed and has a fun storyline and memorable music! This is definitely one that I would recommend!

DVD Review - VeggieTales - Larry Learns to Listen

About the DVD
When Larry's new Space Squadron game finally arrives, he's so anxious to play that he forgets to read the directions. When his friends do their best to tell him, Larry refuses to listen! What happens? His game goes KERPOW! That's when Larry learns a valuable lesson (through song!) in listening as his friends come to the rescue.

Kids will discover, right along with Larry, that God gave friends and family to help us through each day so when we listen we don t miss what others have to say! Also includes the classic stories of Pistachio and Josh and the Big Wall!

My Take on the Movie
This was another great Veggie Tales DVD! Our family has been watching Veggie Tales for some time, and this one adds again to the powerful message that these DVD's share. What I like most about this DVD as well as all of the DVDs is that they are DVDs that carry positive messages with a spiritual underpinning, but beyond that, they also share messages about things that are important to all about what God has in store for each and every one of us. My daughters and I had a great discussion about listening as we have been having problems with this lately. I am hoping that the message learned will stay with them for a long time to come!

New location sharing iPhone app for parents

Onmaway is a simple way to automatically let other people know a user's location over time, whether it be their spouse for 20 minutes or their social network for the length of a cross-country trip. The app allows users to send a link to friends and family via text, email, and social media that lets them to track the user's location on any web browser.

The app was inspired after a friend of founder Jeff Ferguson received a traffic ticket for texting while driving. Onmaway is designed to help people avoid the dangerous practice of texting updates to friends and family while driving. “People don’t realize that the simple act of texting, ‘I’m on the way,’ can distract you long enough to cause a serious accident,” says Ferguson.

Recent studies show that over 25% of all accidents are caused by "distracted driving" and that number increases with teen drivers. Texting while driving is now banned in over 39 states and more states are passing legislation against this dangerous practice. With the help of Onmaway, users can simply let the app update their friends and family without ever having to touch their phones while behind the wheel.

“Apps that shut down texting by drivers completely are one solution,” continued Ferguson, “but people are still going to want to communicate with their friends and family.”

Now, using the Onmaway app, parents can let their family watch their progress as they drive home from work; kids can let their parents track their progress as they walk home from school; parents can watch their college age kids drive across country to their new campus; friends can watch as their friends move to a new city or state; business people can update their co-workers with their progress on their way to meetings; friends can let their friends know when they are on the way to a meet up for dinner or a show, and much more.

Tracking services from cell service providers can cost $20 or more a month, but Onmaway is only a one time charge of $1.99 – much cheaper than a ticket for texting while driving. Onmaway is available for the iPhone in the Apple iTunes App Store. Versions for Droid and Windows phones will be available soon.

“Technology created the hazard of texting while driving,” says Ferguson, “It is technology’s responsibility to solve the problem.”

DVD Review - The Cleveland Show Season 2

The quiet town of Stoolbend, Virginia will never be the same now that Cleveland Brown and his new family have moved in. From Rich Appel, Mike Henry and Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane, comes the outrageous Emmy Award® nominated comedy, THE CLEVELAND SHOW Season 2 on DVD September 27 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Her two unruly kids – boy crazy teenage daughter Roberta (Reagan Gomez) and pint-sized 5-year-old Rallo (Henry) – can often be found conspiring with or against their insecure and naïve step-brother, Cleveland Jr. (Kevin Michael Richardson). Cleveland’s neighbors and sidekicks include loudmouth redneck Lester (Richardson); religious talking bear Tim (Seth MacFarlane) and his wife, Arianna (AriannaHuffington); and hipster wanna-be Holt (Jason Sudeikis).

My Take on the Show
If you like Family Guy you will see some definite similarities in this show. I had only seen this show once before and not that I have watched this DVD set, I can say that this was quite the funny series and if you like the humor in family guy you will like this as well. In saying this though I have to say that this show is different and unique from The Family Guy as well. It has its own jokes and stands strongly on its own. The characters were funny and witty and the writing in the show was strong. You will find yourself laughing out loud when watching these DVD's!
