Book Review - Mitt, the Michigan Mouse
About the Book
Mitt, as young white-footed mouse, lives happily in a wool mitten deep in the forest until a boy happens by with his rather large dog who snatches Mitt’s beloved home. Mitt embarks on a journey across Michigan to retrieve his warm and cozy mitten, seeing many sights and having many adventures.
My Take on the Book
As someone that lives in Michigan I was excited to see what this book would be like and what my kids would think about it. I read this with my kids and one of the first thing that was great was that the chapters were short, and we could get through the book very quickly. My eldest daughter even read this a second time by herself (she is is in second grade and this was a perfect reading level for her). Not only was the story itself a lot of fun, but the illustrator has placed some very cool pencil drawings throughout the book. You and your kids will have a blast following the travels of Mitt. This was a great story for the whole family!
