DVD Review - Jake and the Neverland Pirates - Peter Pan Returns
Peter Pan is back––but his shadow is missing! When Peter loses his shadow while playing a game of Catch-Me-If-You-Can, he returns to Never Land to seek help from his kid pirate friend Jake. Embarking on one of his most daring and exciting adventures ever, Jake and his kid pirate pals, Izzy and Cubby, along with lookout parrot Skully, must use teamwork to find Peter’s shadow and return it to its rightful owner. However, their mission is nearly thwarted by the fiendish Captain Hook, and his bumbling first mate Mr. Smee. But bravery and justice win the day and Jake and his Never Land pirate crew once again reveal what it takes to become heroes, in Disney’s “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Peter Pan Returns.”

My Take on the DVD
This is what is great DVD for the whole family, filled with great episodes, great plot, great music, and characters. What I love about the show is that the characters always have to work together to complicate the tasks that they have, so the values of teamwork are constantly shown in this series. There are also many underlying motifs that are shared that relate back to issues of friendships and but someone must to to maintain these friendships as well as what they must to to teach others about the value of friendship. As you can tell I truly to appreciate and enjoy the series and I know that you will feel the same way once you watch this DVD set and share the adventures with your own children.
On top of this great DVD I was able to also throw a great treasure hunt for my daughters and a few of their friends. All of them were able to dress up like pirates and we had some great finds for things like pirates' gold. What was also fun was that I was able to build them a treasure box where they could put their most important and special things. We used the Visa Giftcard to put together some pirate dips and chips. Once the kids watched the show and had their snacks, it was time to start getting ready for the treasure hunt! The kids were raring to go and when we finally did let them into the map zone, they were chomping at the bit waiting to converge on the store. The parents and kids that did the event all said that this was a great birthday party and that they simply wanted to do it again and again!
Thank you for an awesome Pirate Filled Adventure!
