Book Review - The Total Parent

About the Book
From newborns to teenagers, the only book you'll ever need Most parenting books cover only children's health issues or a particular problem of childhood. The Total Parent is different. Really four books in one, think of it as the mother of all parenting books. You'll learn how to:

  • Identify and treat the most common childhood health problems -Recognize serious medical problems and provide emergency care for your child
  • Understand the intense changes new mothers experience after pregnancy -Instill a passion for learning and educational success in your children
  • Help your child become a happy, honest, respectful, and value-centered person

All childhood medical illnesses are here in jargon-free language, along with Total Parent PointersTM for the educational, social, and character development of your child.

"A concise and much-needed review of the topics every parent needs to know in an easy to use format. Along with great medical information, you'll learn important skills and techniques for educational success, parenting, and raising a child with solid values and character. A must-read!"

Sander Marcus, Ph.D., co-author of Could Do Better: Why Children Underachieve and What To Do About It, consultant to Chicago Board of Education Gifted Children Program.

My Take on the Book
The book is amazingly full of pretty much any topic that you could think of from birth to teen. What I love about this book is that it is full of great color pictures that give you perspective into everything from illness to injury to even more. I have read may parenting books but this one provides you with great resources as well as insights into being a better parent.

I also loved the questions and ideas that each chapter provides. The questions in each chapter (Parent Pointers) were ones that either ask you questions or make you think about issues that you need to consider to be a good parent.

This is the type of book that any parent would be happy to have and one that I can see that you would want to turn to to be able to answer the questions and issues that always occur as a parent. So whether it is medical issues or parenting skills you are taken on a great journey.

If you are a parent or you know someone who is, this book was an amazing one!
