My Take on the Book
What an amazing book with very cool images throughout that really allow you to explore mythology in a whole new way. This book really opens your eyes to some amazing creatures and depending on your own imagination, your images will look different on every page depending on how you color them. The images in this book were very large and you can easily spend a lot of time on the intricate designs to make the pictures even more magical!

Book Review - American Girl: Tenney Grant, Book 1

About the Book
Tenney's biggest dream is to share what's in her heart through music. Little does she know, she's about to get the opportunity of a lifetime. In this first book, Tenney gets invited to perform solo at Nashville's famed Bluebird Cafe and the pressure is on to write the song that will show what she's made of. But then Tenney's parents decide that she's too young to perform professionally, leaving her future hanging in the balance. What if this is Tenney's only chance to make her dreams come true?



My Take on the Book
This is a wonderful story that really has a ton of heart. My girls kept mentioning how impressed they were about the passion that Tenney has for the music that she creates. As musicians themselves they appreciated seeing that she was able to surpass barriers to meet her goals. My oldest loved this because Tenney is 12 just like she is and she could see some of the same struggles that she has in the life that Tenney lives. The book is real and portrays a girl that other girls would want to know but also would want to be friends with. The story is inspiring and allows the reader to see the potential in reaching for the dreams that they may have.

Book Review - American Girl: Tenney Grant: Tenney in the Key of Friendship

About the Book
Tenney Grant is a star on the rise. She knows that building a music career takes time and dedication. So does being a good friend. My Take on the Book
My daughters have been big fans of American Girl books in the past and this book continues the great tradition of books that they have offered from the past and introduces you to some amazing new  characters too. One of the things that my daughters love about this is that not only do you get strong male characters but in this book you get the first male American Girl character that they have turned into a doll too. Logan was a surprise for my daughters and I was surprised to hear that they were interested in getting him, as much as having the Tenney doll too. The other thing they loved about this story is that it has a lot of heart and as both my girls love music, they love Tenney's passion for the music she creates. This is simply a great book that your American Girl fan will love!

My Take on the Book
My daughter is a huge fan of Junie B Jones and she also loves to sing. She was very excited to hear that in this audiobook you not only get a very fun story but you also get the story placed into song montages. Hearing the book in this way was a ton of fun and completely engaging for my daughter. The story is told directly from Junie B Jones herself so your reader will get to get behind the scenes with this larger than life character. The story is energetic and moves quickly and with the upbeat songs that are included, my daughter sat through listening to the story two times through in one sitting, she loved it that much! If you love humor, wit and a great story, let alone characters that you will not forget, this is the book for you!

My Take on the Book
This was a short quick read that really opens your eyes to the security threats that are out there when it comes to being online today. While I was aware of some of the issues, I was definitely not thinking of some of the others. This book makes you rethink about the places where you have entered your personal information - not in a way to scare you, but instead to help you be aware of the realities. The book is up front with information and really lays out a ton of information to make sure you are completely informed by the end of the book. In the end the author does a great job at helping you start or continue your online vigilance in safeguarding your identity. Highly recommend that all read this and get your own wake up call and start safeguarding your own online identity today!

Book Review - Disney Descendants: School of Secrets: Ally's Mad Mystery

About the Book
Ally is the daughter of Alice in Wonderland.

My Take on the Book
This is another great book in the series which not only allows you to meet additional characters from the Descedants' world, but this character also does bring in a character that has her own fun quirks. My daughters loved that she was like their own Nancy Drew (as they were big fans of that book series). I can tell you that the story was truly engaging and my girls had a blast reading this. It was a quick read with short chapters that were fun and exciting. In the end this is a great addition to the series, and my girls are excited to read the next book in the series as well!

Book Review - Dream Magic

About the Book
Things are dire for the inhabitants of Castle Gloom and the surrounding villages. My Take on the Book
This was a great follow up to Shadow Magic. In that book my girls were completely drawn into the story and they loved the characters. In this book you get more of the same. I particularly loved the short chapters and the adventure that is ties in throughout the story. The story moves quickly but also is captivating which makes you feel compelled to read just that one additional page to see what happens next. There are heroes, villains and more and the main characters are ones that you can empathize with! This is a great story!
