My Take on the Doll
This was another great Winx doll, though quite different than the Believix dolls. I was quite impressed by the quality of construction as well as with the costume itself, and so was my daughter. I have to say that I did notice that the Believix Dolls tended to articulate a bit more and the outfits were a bit more grandiose, but the doll still was nice and my daughter had a blast playing with it and adding it to her overall collection and your child will as well!

My Take on the Doll
My daughter loves Winx dolls and this doll was beautifully created with full mobility and wonderful color. What I love as a parent is watching my daughter using her imagination to make her doll have amazing adventures that only she can create. I completely encourage this creativity and she immerses herself into the play. I encourage these dolls to all as they open a whole new world to all who play with them!

My Take on the Product
This Lego set has some the best of the Spongebob characters in my perspective. The set has a large number of pieces that allow you to be creative, while still allowing you to have fun in Bikini Bottom. I love the opportunities that Legos like this provide my daughters to be able to be creative and use their imagination in many ways. I loved this set not only for its characters, but also for the attention to details that the makers used to bring this set forward. My daughters had a blast playing with this and I know that this fun will only continue in the future.

Product Review - Trouble Board Game SpongeBob Square Pants Edition

My Take on the Game
I have been a fan of the game of trouble for quite some time. My girls are big fans of sponge bob. Take this great game and place it with this hilarious sponge and his friends and you get a fun filled evening for the whole family. While the board game looks different you still get the same fun action that I remember as a child, but instead you get to get in "trouble with Sponge Bob and his friend instead! This was a fun game for the whole family!

Book Review - Mr. Halloweenster Saves the Day

About the Book
Adapted from the children's short animated film available on YouTube, the story begins the day before Halloween: Mr. Halloweenster is helping the kids get costumes for the parade and trick-or-treating. Then the kids get tricked into forgetting all about their costumes and the parade. It takes quite a bit of imagination along with some Halloween magic for Mr. Halloweenster to save the day.

My Take on the Book
I was not sure what to expect from the title. It is an interesting story. The best part of Halloween has always been seeing the children in their costumes and some are so creative. The main character, Mr. Halloweenster, feels the same way and encourages the children to dress up and have fun.

However a sinister adversary wants the children to show only their greed at receiving the candy and dismiss the fun of the Halloween parades and dressing up in costumes. He almost succeeds, but the hero, Mr. Halloweenster steps in to bring back the fun.

If Halloween has become just the running from house to house to acquire the most candy and the fun of dressing up and enjoying the joy of the night has been forgotten, then maybe this story will bring back some inspiration to bring back the true meaning of Halloween into your children's celebration.

Book Review - The Knife And The Fork Go Dancing

About the Book
Much of a child’s education focuses on reading and writing, while social skills are often overlooked.

Traudi Allen’s The Knife and the Fork Go Dancing focuses on the benefits of peaceful conflict resolution and cooperation with others. Allen embeds valuable lessons for children into a whimsical world where ordinary households objects come to life. Beneficial to children’s social and emotional development, Allen covers the following themes:

• Many conflicts result from misunderstanding
• By helping others, we help ourselves
• An affectionate gesture or a kind word, even from child to child, can be healing for the giver as much as the receiver
• A positive view changes the world by a simple variation in perception
• Solutions to problems can often be found by approaching the situation from another point of view

“Children need answers to situations that occur in their lives, just as much as adults do,” says Allen. “I think we still tend to fall into the 'eye for an eye' mentality which doesn't get us very far.”

As she continues to work on her series of children's books, Allen centers her stories around applicable life lessons told in an engaging style that allow readers of all ages to enjoy and absorb the values into their own lives.

About the Author
Traudi Allen is a Melbourne writer and art historian who has published five books and numerous articles on Australian art. After working in television and radio current affairs she regularly contributed interviews and documentaries on art subjects to ABC radio talks programmes. Her early books include a biography of Clifton Pugh, a monograph on the work of John Perceval and an analysis of the Melbourne Roar group. More recently she has lectured in contemporary Australian art and published a text titled 'Cross-currents in Australian contemporary art'. Her latest art book is 'Homesickness: nationalism in Australian visual culture'.

She is currently working on a novel of literary fiction and is publishing a series titled 'The House series of picture books for children'.

My Take on the Book

Although this is a story about a rivalry between a knife and fork, their jealously, and the reaction they experience from hurting each other.Iit is also a story about friendship. There is a friend (the spoon) who helps the two friends to see how they need not be jealous of each other.

Isn't that often how friendships seem to travel? Don't we need to see how each of us has special talents and gifts we bring to our world.

As a parent, you could easily use the message of this story and relate it to your child's life and the real life friendships and even family relationships. We all have value. We are all different. We bring our special talents and gifts to each situation. Look deeper into the meaning of this book. You will find it has a lot to offer you.
