My Take on the Book

None of us are really told what to expect when we marry our significant other. There is no manual and while there is some counseling that may happen depending on your faith, you usually will not touch on many of the issues that this book examines. This is the type of book that personally I wish I had read at the beginning of my marriage as it may have opened my eyes earlier to some of the bumps that we definitely hit along the way. You can tell that the author really knows what he is talking about and as a professional counselor the examples that are used throughout the book was tangible and truly something that is easily implemented. One of the things that I appreciated within the book outside all of the content, was the feeling of support that permeates the entire book. From beginning to end, as a reader you feel that the author is here to hold you up and that he empathizes with what you have or may experience in your life. This is definitely a book that will help you build or rebuild a marriage that you will be proud of and that will last you a lifetime.

My Take on the Book
This was a well written book that breaks down strategies to put in place in your marriage to get things set and moving on the right track. The seven things that the author shares include:

1. Stop Doing the Same Thing
2. Put God First
3. Connect
4. Engage
5. Put in time
6. Sex
7. Fight for your marriage

Each of the sections were well thought out and shared some great advice. Many of the tips are ones that I have heard before in numerous places, but this was great as it brought everything together on one place.

The book is full of Christian views of marriage, but many of the tips and advice are universal in nature. The book was a quick read with ideas and strategies that you can start working on right away.

My Take on the Sunscription
I had the opportunity to talk about this service in the past, and at that time I was impressed with the products, and in this box that I received this month I continued to be. The products that you receive are quite varied from month to month and you do get to take these to spicen up the romance that you have with your partner. Even after many years together, sometimes it is fun to be spontaneous and try something very different and spicy subscriptions completely allows you to do this. What I love is that you never really know what you will get so it is a lot of fun to get the box and see (laugh at times) and see what you think.

This time the box I received was much more discrete so I appreciated that as it would raise no red flags with any snoopy neighbors either.

All-of this being said I have to say that it was nice to be able to try this kit out and I hope to be able to continue getting boxes to share with you all in the future too!

My Take on the Book
Marriage is not easy. It takes work, commitment, love and more. This book does a great job at capturing what we all must do to keep our marriage alive and working as a team, as truly that is what keeps a marriage alive in my experience. I enjoyed reading this book as the author did a great job at laying out the challenges and what we all need to do to work on our marriages one day at a time. The book was practical and shares with you ways in which you truly can start to see yourself as a part of a team, a "We" instead of an "I", if that makes sense to you. In reading this book, get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the work ahead. The author will reveal some great ideas, tips,and more about what sustains a marriage and what will help your own marriage to thrive and survive. I recommend reading this with your partner as you will find that it will bring you closer together and will open up a dialogue that will only help your overall relationship too. Whether your marriage is strong or not, this book will set you on a new path, that will only strength your communication and overall marriage in general!

My Take on the Book
This was a truly interesting book. While I knew about some of these married couples from the bible, I definitely did not know all ow these. I also was grossly misinformed to many of the issues that these couples dealt with and what they had to teach me as a man and as a husband. The book was very informative and down to earth, You get a great mix of biblical teaching as well as counseling that you can put into practice immediately. This was a great book that was a quick read, but one that has really stayed with me since I read through it!
