Book Review - A Day in the Life of Your Body

About the Book
Detailed, scientifically accurate color illustrations are complemented with a lively text that explains the many ways a typical healthy child's body functions at different times of a typical day. The book's narrative depicts a child waking up in the morning, eating breakfast and digesting food, using the body's muscles to ride a bike, and performing the many normal activities that make up a child's average day. In describing the activities, the book shows and explains the workings of the child's brain and nervous system, the respiratory system, the heart and cardiovascular system, the skeletal system, and other vital functions. Kids learn the importance of good nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate sleep. They'll also find answers to important questions that deal with visits to a doctor's office, getting sick and recovering, and growing up to adulthood. More than 200 photos and illustrations are all in color.

My Take on the Book
This book makes it so easy to have a conversation about the human body and how it works. Filled with accurate information about every system within their body the book provides kids with an accurate depiction of one day within their body and helps them understand how all of their bodily systems work in tandem to make their lives possible. I appreciated how well the book incorporates activities that children do daily so that they could better understand the overall intent of the book. Full of great illustrations, the book explains things so that a child can understand and I found in reading their with my eldest that she was grasping most of the concepts which was important for me as a parent. All-in-all this was a great book that will open any child's eyes to the wonder that their body truly is!
