Numi Organic Tea Launches: Together For H2OPE #4H2OPE

#4H2OPE

Numi Organic Tea, a leading purveyor of premium quality organic, non-GMO and fair trade certified teas and teasans, is pleased to announce a new fundraising initiative for charity: water, “Together for H2OPE.”

“My sister Reem and I started Numi Organic Tea because we believe everyone deserves a good cup of quality tea. But, what’s tea without water? “remarked Ahmed Rahim, co-founder of Numi Organic Tea. He continued, “While we’re fortunate to have access to clean, safe drinking water, one in every nine people on the planet, almost 1 billion people, live without this basic human right.” Reem Rahim added, “We want to change that. Through our Together for H2OPE initiative we are partnering with charity: water to help bring clean, safe drinking water to people in need.”

To help spread the word, Numi is asking their “communi’tea” to share a moment of gratitude for our access to clean, safe water and post a photograph of a favorite moment that includes water or water activities via Twitter and/or Instagram with the hashtag #4H2OPE. For every individual who shares their #4H2OPE moment, Numi will donate one dollar to charity: water. While Numi will be providing creative prompts, some of these moments include:

  • Favorite moment with tea
  • Favorite water moment with friends
  • Favorite water moment with animals
  • Favorite winter water moment
  • Favorite water adventure
  • Favorite furry friend water moment
  • Most influential moment without water
  • Favorite habitual moment with water (i.e. bathing, washing hands, etc.)
  • Water celebration moment
At the conclusion of the program, Numi will compile the photos that have been shared and ask consumers to vote on their favorites. Because one in nine people (near one billion) live without access to clean, safe drinking water, nine category winners will receive a Numi Organic Tea gift.

In addition, Numi Organic Tea will expand the program in 2015 by asking conscious tea lovers from all over the country to host their own fundraising parties, continuing to raise money for charity: water. When charity: water first began, founder Scott Harrison threw a fundraising birthday party, where he asked his friends and family to donate to his cause of bringing clean water to those in need instead of giving him gifts. Since then, people have been replacing birthday parties with fundraising events all around the world. Numi Organic Tea is asking consumers to do the same, and calling it Tea Time for H2OPE. To participate, hosts need to join Numi’s charity: water campaign via numitea.com/H2OPE or my.charitywater.org/numitea and raise at least fifty dollars.

Once the fifty dollar fundraising is reached, Numi will send the host a Tea Time for H2OPE party-hosting kit which includes an assortment of Numi Organic Tea’s non-GMO, fair trade certified teas and teasans, a food pairing guide, party favors and prizes for twenty people, and more. Numi Organic Tea will match funds raised from nine parties based on criteria such as highest contribution, greatest number of guests, most original tea party theme, among others. To be considered, hosts must send photos and event recaps to h2ope@numitea.com.

Numi has also developed an integrated program with their retail partners called Wishing Wells. This piece of the campaign encourages an in store display of a Numi branded “wishing well.” Shoppers are invited to write their wishes for the world on a piece of paper and throw it into the well. For each wish, Numi will donate a TBD amount to Charity Water.

By coming Together for H2OPE, consumers and the communi’tea can join Numi in their aim to bring clean, safe drinking water to people in need. Because in the end it all boils down to water. For more information on charity: water, consumers can visit http://www.charitywater.org/.
