 photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

I had the opportunity to try out two of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles LEGO sets this holiday season and I wanted to be able to share the two that I was able to try with you as you make your holiday gift buying decisions!

About the Sets

LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Turtle Sub Undersea Chase

The Kraangs have the power cell and are getting away in their mini Kraang sub. Rev up the engine of the awesome Turtle Sub and power away in hot pursuit with Donatello, Leonardo and Leatherhead. Watch out for the Kraang sub’s flick missiles, fire the shooter and detach the mini sub to ambush the shark droids’ underwater vehicle. Select a weapon from the armory and dive into the water for a thrilling Turtle vs. The Kraang underwater conflict. Includes Donatello, Leonardo and two Kraang mini-figures with weapons and accessories, plus a Leatherhead figure.

SRP $59.99

LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Karai Bike Escape

It’s a jam-packed adventure when Karai tries to escape with one of the lost mutagen canisters in LEGO’s Karai Bike Escape. Leo will have to skateboard through the city streets and hang on Karai’s tail as she accelerates on the dual-exhaust motorbike. It includes Karai and Leonardo mini-figures with weapons and accessories.

My Take on the Sets
Both of these sets were a ton of fun to build and create. I was SO impressed with the quality of both of these sets, as I have been in the past with other LEGO sets that I have purchased. One of the things that I am always amazed at is how close to the original motion picture the master builders at LEGO have stayed in regards to the sets themselves. In each of these sets you can see similarities to characters and situations as you saw in the TMNT movie too. The colors in both of these sets were vibrant and as usual the sets fit together as well as could be expected. The turtle sub is very sturdy and is not going anywhere once built. I love the details on the sub itself and theability to open up the sub and get into the inside where the turtles work the sub itself.

The Karai Bike Escape Building Set was small but added some great action to the sub that I received too. The set was easy to put together and melded well too with some of the other sets that I have had too. One of the great things in this set for the true TMNT fan was that you get Leonardo within the set which is not a character you always find in the overall sets.

All-in-all, if you are a TMNT and LEGO fan, these along with the many other TMNT LEGO sets would be a great add-on for their collection, or to start a new collection altogether. YOu will not be disappointed with the quality of these sets!
