Being the new kid in school can be tough!
Sometimes other kids can make faces, whisper secrets, and laugh But a good friend can make all the difference in the world -- which is just what this new bug finds out on his first day of school when he meets Katydid.
She's not like all the other bugs. She's welcoming, kind, and caring.
And when all the other bugs picked on the new kid . . . Katy didn't!
My Take on the Book
This was a very fun book that looks at starting in a new school and how being a new kid does not mean that you will change who you are. This is a powerful book that shares a message of love and kindness and sticking to your own beliefs. This is an important book for all younger readers to read with their parents. There is a ton of messages that will resonate with kids and because of this parent and child can have some very important conversations together!
