About the BookI wanted to introduce you to internationally acclaimed photographers Tracy Raver and Kelley Ryden who are also sisters and are quickly becoming leaders in a new genre of studio photography: newborn baby portraiture. Here is a recent story about them from the UK Guardian: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/

In September 2009 NBC's Today aired an interview with Tracy where several of the sisters' photographs were shown. The interview was soon posted on YouTube and caused a worldwide sensation. Tracy and Kelley take photos of the babies while they are under one-month old in a warm studio (higher than 80 degrees,) their bellies are full and they feel sleepy. The sisters are based in Omaha, Nebraska but they also travel to cities around the country to photograph newborns.

I had seen books by Anne Geddes and other such artists in the past that use young babies in interesting and beautiful ways. I was amazed at some of the images that the photographers were able to capture. I can only wish that I had the same skill at capturing such images within my own family and within my own life.
The images bring me to a place of utter tranquility. With the fact that most of these babies were completely knocked out, they look so serene and peaceful.
I truly commend these photographers for putting together a beautiful and well laid out artistic display. The images found within this book are ones that any parent or parent to be will treasure!
If this book sounds like a book that you would like to have as a part of your own library, you can find it on Amazon!
