My Take on Persil
I recently came across Persil ProClean and while I had never tried it before, I saw so many people giving it 5 star reviews online I new I had to try it. I had used other name-brand detergents in the past and had been happy with what I had been getting, but as I started to use this I noticed a marked difference in the smell of the clothes as well as the vibrant nature of the colors too.

I found that in using this only a few times I started to notice that whites seemed to be brighter and the colored clothes seemed less dingy and more vibrant than they had been in the past. I guess I am saying that even though I had been happy with the other detergents that I had been using, I did not know what I was missing until I started using Persil!

I encourage you to try this for yourself, picking up some at your local Walmart or on Amazon. You will definitely be impressed!

all(R) Free Clear: Tips to Addressing Eczema and Fall Allergies in Your Family

 photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg
The Fall Season brings allergies back into our lives, with more than 50 million people suffering from some form of Allergies in this country. In addition, October is National Eczema Month and according to the National Eczema Foundation, as many as 30 million Americans may have it. The key is to learn more about it to help you and your readers/viewers understand treatment – especially when it comes to kids. Here are three smart ways to address Eczema and Fall Allergies in your family.

1) Be ready with this Eczema prevention check list:
  • Moisturize every day.
  • Wear cotton or soft fabrics. Avoid rough, scratchy fibers and tight clothing.
  • Take lukewarm baths and showers, using mild soap or non-soap cleanser
  • Gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel – do not rub.
  • Apply a moisturizer within 3 minutes after bathing to “lock in” moisture.
  • When possible, avoid rapid changes of temperature and activities that make you sweat.
  • Learn your eczema triggers and avoid them.
  • Use a humidifier in dry or cold weather.
  • Keep your fingernails short to help keep scratching from breaking the skin.
  • Some people with allergies find it helps to remove carpets from their house, and give pets dander treatments.

Products with the National Eczema label have received the NEA Seal of Acceptance. Products eligible for the NEA Seal of Acceptance™ are those that have been created or intended for use by persons with eczema or severe sensitive skin conditions and that have satisfied the NEA Seal of Acceptance™ criteria. Acceptance of a product means that the product has been evaluated to determine that it does not contain ingredients or contents that are known to be unsuitable for use by persons with eczema or sensitive skin conditions.

all® free clear is the ONLY detergent that has the National Eczema Seal of Acceptance.

2) Know the Truth About Fall Allergens
  • Ragweed is the biggest allergy trigger in the fall. Though the yellow-flowering weed usually starts releasing pollen in August, it can last into September and October.
  • For some people who are allergic to ragweed, foods like bananas, melon, zucchini, and certain other fruits and vegetables can also cause symptoms.
  • Mold is another fall trigger. Piles of damp leaves are ideal breeding grounds for mold.
  • Don’t forget dust mites. While they are common during the humid summer months, they can get stirred into the air the first time you turn on your heat in the fall.
  • Schools are breeding grounds for mold and dust mites which trigger allergies in kids.

3) Go Free & Clear in the Laundry Room

all® free clear is the #1 recommended detergent brand by Dermatologists, Allergists and Pediatricians for sensitive skin. It's tough on stains yet gentle enough for the whole family to use. It is also safe for use in standard and HE machines. My Thoughts on the Product
This product makes a HUGE difference in my clothes and my dry skin. I have found that this product makes my clothes cleaner and I do not have as many problems as I have had in the past with skin issues, especially in regards to the winter months when my skin is already dry (I do not need my clothes irritating my sin even further). That being said I was very impressed and I know that I will be continuing to use this in the future!

Thus, when I heard of this company and its products, I was quite excited to see what it would offer. I  was quite impressed with each of the above items as each worked quite well in their own ways. One of the things I liked most though was how portable all of these items were. So not only do you get products that get, and keep, your products clean and protected, but above and beyond that you also get to have products that something that you can take anywhere to help you keep your electronics clean on the go too. Fuller Brush Company offers you Foaming DisposalClean for your drains and disposals!

About the Product
Foaming DisposalClean is designed to help rid your disposal unit and sinks of any unsightly buildup and odor with minimal effort. Natural grease cutters break down hard-to-clean crust, leaving a pleasant scent and sheen. Easy to use, and effective, Foaming DisposalClean is just another part of Fuller’s great home care system.

My Take on the Product
This is a great product that works so well. When I first tried it out I was surprised to find how easy it was to use. All you have to do is connect the tube to the container and spray it down into your disposal and let it do its work. The foam that it dispenses smells fresh and clean and it seems to do a good job at disinfecting the disposal as well. If you have a disposal and you are starting to notice the tell-tale sign that your disposal needs to be cleaned, this is definitely a great product to try. You will not be disappointed at the result!

With the holiday’s quickly approaching, we’re reminded how hard it is to keep a clean home. Between the seemingly endless stream of parties and houseguests, you may only have a few extra minutes to give your home the special attention it deserves. Affresh ® is here to keep your appliances clean and smelling great throughout the festive months.

  • Have a smelly washer? Try affresh ® Washer Cleaner to get rid of odor and residue left behind by detergents, lint and soils. The tablets penetrate and dissolve unseen residue in hard to reach places inside your washer and leave it smelling fresh!

  • Can’t seem to get your cooktop looking clean? The affresh ® Cooktop Cleaner cuts through the toughest baked-on residue. This cleaner is safe for all glass, ceramic and porcelain cooktops.

  • Crumbs and spills left behind? Safely remove everyday food spills and stuck-on residue from inside your microwave, refrigerator, and favorite small appliances (blenders, toasters, mixers, etc.) with affresh® Kitchen and Appliance Cleaner without the need to rinse after use.

  • Smudgy Stainless Steel? affresh® Stainless Steel Cleaner leaves a streak-fee and polished shine. This product gently cleans fingerprints, smudges and residue. Use stainless steel cleaner on refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges and microwaves.

  • Have a rotten smell in your Dishwasher? Odor has the tendency to exist anywhere moisture is present in a closed environment. The affresh® Dishwasher and Disposal Cleaner is the only national two-in-one product in the marketplace that removes odor in dishwashers and garbage disposals.
When used just once-a-month as part of your cleaning and maintenance routine, these products not only prevent build-up and residue but also help extend the life of your appliances.

My Take on the Products
I had the opportunity to try all of these and was so impressed. They all work so well and no matter what you are trying to clean you get to have this done with ease with these Affresh products. I particularly liked both the dishwasher and washer cleaners. I saw such a marked difference in both of these appliances after we ran them. If you have never tried Affresh Products in the past you do not know what you are missing and you really need to try them out for yourself!

Vaska’s Herbatergent and Herbasoft Offer Natural Cleaning

All of us like to have clean clothes and whatever the activity that we are engaged in. Many times we use clothes, towels or the like in these activities and are then forced to clean them. For me, I like to look for products that are not only good for my family and I but also good for the environment and recently I was asked to examine Vaska, an all natural botanically based laundry care line.

Vaska’s Herbatergent and Herbasoft cleans and softens towels, keeping them bright and fluffy, without harming the environment in the process.  So go ahead and toss that towel in the washer and feel good about the natural clean it endures with Vaska.

§        Liquid laundry detergent uses real lavender and potent botanical cleaning agents to clean towels effectively without harmful chemicals
§        Available in Light Lavender or Scent Free
$9.99 for a 48 oz bottle (32 loads)

§        Liquid fabric softener gives towels enhanced softness and a light, fresh, lavender scent
§        Herbasoft uses real herbs and advanced botanicals to soften towels naturally, without leaving behind waxes or harmful chemicals that damage fabrics and or irritate the skin
§        $9.99 for a 48 oz bottle (32 loads)

My Take on the ProductI am always looking for healthy alternatives for food and home. I also try and be gentle to the environment with the things that we do, whether that is through recycling or the items that I buy. This product was one that worked very well and left the cloths feeling and smelling great. I did not know what to expect, but after using this I have to say that I was very impressed and I will definitely be looking to continue using this in the future!

My Take on the Product
When I think of the Fuller Brush Company I think about quality lasting products that can truly clean, and clean well. I was impressed to learn that this company made so many cleaning products that I never knew that they had ever made before. I was given the opportunity to try out their Grime Guard Glass Cleaner, and when I received it I did not know what to expect.

The glass cleaner comes in an industrial size can, but even though it is a bit larger, this product works and works well. I tried this out both in our bathrooms but also on our outer sliding glass doors that we have and I was impressed to see that not only did this product clean without streaks, it also provided good coverage and took up dirt that I did not even see.

I tested this out against another glass cleaner that I had in the house on two sections of a sliding glass door and I was amazed to see that the Grime Guard did pull up more dirt and left less streaks overall which is what I look for in a glass cleaner!

Overall, this was a great product and I was happy to have the opportunity to try this out!

Made from botanically pure plant extracts, these no-rinse wipes are an effective cleaning solution for the many hard, nonporous surfaces where bacteria or unpleasant odors are a concern including: desks, classroom countertops, food preparation surfaces, floors and garbage cans. It’s the no-rinse, one-step solution for effective, everyday cleaning.

5 tips for making spring cleaning a family affair

It’s spring—the perfect time to de-clutter and organize your home. For parents, the challenge is to freshen up the house while also staying on top of everyday responsibilities like work, carpool and dinner. Involving your kids is a great way to get it all done without losing your mind.

Kati Chevaux, editor at Cozi.com, offers 5 tips to turn common spring cleaning chores into a family affair:

1. Refrigerator Clean-Out
o   What you do: Remove all food to do a complete wipe down of the fridge shelves and drawers.
o   What the kids do: Find the expiration date on labels and sort out expired items and fuzzy foods.
2. Junk Drawer Makeover
o   What you do: Empty the drawer, clean, and replace items that belong.
o   What the kids do: Put toys and belongings in the right place, test the charge of stray batteries, throw away garbage, collect change and keep it!
3. Toy Reduction
o   What the kids do: Gather all random toys and trinkets around the house. Sort toys into two piles: 1. What I do play with 2. What I don’t play with.
o   What you do: When the kids aren’t home, recycle or throw away all the toys in pile No. 2 and half the toys in pile No. 1.
4. Wiping and Dusting
o   What you do: Prepare a spray bottle of mild/natural cleaner; dust shelves containing fragile items.
o   What the kids do: Use the spray bottle and washcloth to wipe windowsills, dust the top edge of the baseboards, wipe walls and door frames.
5. Paper Clutter Control
o   What you do: Remove unnecessary files, old bills, magazines, and phonebooks.
o   What the kids do: Shred sensitive papers, carry paper trash to recycling bin.

Keeping vehicles’ interiors fresh begins with finding the perfect product to protect fabric, leather and carpets.  Scotchgard™ Auto Fabric & Carpet Protector offers consumers an easy and affordable solution to preventing car stains and messes, especially as the holidays approach.  Here’s how:
  • Helps protect against spills and stains such as coffee, juice and ketchup
  • Forms an invisible barrier that allows spills to settle on the surface rather than absorbing
  • Won’t alter the look or feel of the fabric

Mr. Clean Eraser Review & Giveaway

About the Products
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Bathroom Scrubber with Febreze fresh scent is the latest cleaning innovation from Mr. Clean and provides superb cleaning with a pleasant scent. It removes soap scum and grime better than the leading bathroom spray and helps reveal the natural shine of bathroom surfaces.

What do you get and how does it work?
-A scrubber that removes tough dirt and grime-All you need to do is wet it; no need for gloves, buckets or additional cleaning implements-30% larger than previous models-New Febreze scent-No fumes-Useful on tubs, ceramic tile, grout, sinks, counters, showers and shower doors

My Take on the ProductWe have always loved using the original magic eraser as it was one of the products that actually removed some of the craziest marks on the wall that the kids can place on them. While we have never used the eraser before in the Bathroom, but in receiving this product to try out, we were excited to see if it worked as well as the ones we had used in the past.

As we tried out this product I will say that we had high hopes. We have pretty hard water and it at times does leave a bit of soap scum that is quite difficult to get rid of and I was hoping that this would help with this problem.

In trying this product, I can tell you that it did do a good job to clean the bathroom and to take off much more of the soap residue that other cleaners seemed not to touch. I also liked the scent that was infused into the eraser as well. The scent was pleasant, unlike many of the cleaners that leave a bleach smell behind.

Overall, I was impressed by the eraser and I believe that we will continue to use this product into the future!

If this product sounds like something that you would like to have as a part of your own home, you can find it on Amazon!

    Clever Spring Cleaning Tips

I am happy to have the opportunity to have Karen Eschebach, Clever Container co-founder share her thoughts today with all of you on ways that you can work on your spring cleaning. Seeing that we had 60 degree weather recently, I can just see that Spring is almost here. My thanks to Karen for her tips. Hope you enjoy them!

      1. Out with the Cold in with the Hues!  It’s time to clean out our closets and get ready for spring and summer. Get yourself into a mindset that you are setting up a boutique just for you.  The clothes in your closet should be the clothes you wear and love.  They also should be the clothes that fit you.  If you’re hanging clothes that are too large or too small, box them up for now and see where you are size wise next year.  If the clothes are still too large or too small, don’t peek inside the boxes, just donate them and take the tax write off.  Try putting outfits together and taking digital pictures of them.  Make sure you include accessories such as jewelry, shoes, purses, belts and scarves.  Print off the digital photos; hole-punch each one and slide an “o-ring” through them.  Hang the “o-ring” from a hook or hanger and you’ll always have ideas on how to get out of the house quickly and stylish.
      2. Go Vertical!  Many people forget to use wall, closet, and door space.  We’re so used to binning everything that sometimes it makes sense to just hang it up.  For instance, hang pegs and hooks up to hang coats, backpacks, totes, leashes, and purses.  If used in a family room, these same hooks could hang your lightweight blankets your family cozies up to or in the bathroom your everyday towels.  Also, using vertical storage in any closet whether hanging from a hanger or attached to a wall will keep things nice and tidy and out of sight.
      3. In the kitchen do some clever clustering.  Cluster all the tools necessary to make lunches each day or cluster all the accessories required to do baking such as bowels, mixers, measuring cups and baking soda.  This will save you time by not having to walk across the kitchen or open up numerous cabinets and drawers.
      4. Set a timer while decluttering and do not accept any interruptions during this time.  Let the phone go to voicemail, don’t answer the email that just came in, and avoid all distractions that don’t pertain to your decluttering effort.
      5. Organizing a room full of stuff can be overwhelming to say the least.  Break the job down into smaller pieces.  I prefer to work in a clockwise manner.  I enter the door and immediately break the room down into twelve sections representing one o’clock through 12 o’clock.  I begin by organizing and cleaning just the 12 o’clock to 1 o’clock space.  If I can’t move forward that day, I keep the area I already organized neat and tidy and I know exactly where I need to begin the next time I’m able to conquer this task.
      6. Not only do we put away our winter clothes, but our coats, hats and mittens need to be stored as well.  First off, make sure everything is washed or dry cleaned so that you are ready for next year.  Sort through your coat closet and see if there is anything you can donate.  I store all my hats, mittens and scarves in a clear, plastic 3-drawer container.  Each person has their own drawer for this purpose.  I either keep the drawer in the bottom of the coat closet or I store it in the basement.  Coats can stay in the closet if there is room.  Consider storing the coats in hanging storage bags to keep them fresh and out of the way.  The quickest tip to making your coat closet appear organized is to have all the same hanger, not a hodge-podge.
      7. Our automobiles could also benefit from a nice spring clean.  Begin by gathering everything that is trash.  Next remove all the items that don’t belong in the car and put them away.  Wipe everything down on the inside of the car and vacuum the interior.  Lastly, put everything back in the car that belongs there.  There are so many wonderful products to help keep your car organized such as a cargo tote, a hanging office organizer, or media storage.
      8. Spring is also tax time.  Decide which bills you want to keep on hand for historical purposes and box them up by year.  Most credit card companies will send you an end of year statement which means you can shred each of the individual statements you have on hand.  Many of your bank statements are also consolidated.  If your cable, home phone, and internet bill are the same each month then there is no need to hold onto your statements.  Only keep the changes such as increases so that you have bargaining power when you go to make changes.  Purge as much as possible but be careful to shred anything with personal information on it.
      9. Books, magazines and catalogs tend to gather heavily during the holidays and for those of you who do not go through and purge them regularly, now is the time.  For books that you’ve read, but you’re not going to re-read, consider logging them onto to www.bookcrossing.com.  It is a website dedicated to logging your book and leaving it in a public place for someone else to pick it up, read it, and journal online about it.  It’s a great way to track where you’re books have been.  Magazines should be purged monthly or as a new issue comes in.  If you haven’t read the one April’s issue, odds are you probably won’t get to January’s.  Same goes for catalogs.  Many catalogs are outdated within two weeks.  If you have a computer you’ll find more styles online as well as the opportunity for better pricing and potentially free shipping.
      10. Spring is also time to spruce up the garage.  Store away all the snow shovels, sleds, and snowmen kits.  Do quick bike checks making sure the tires have air and they are ready to go.  Take inventory of the fertilizer, plant food, and tools that you have on hand for the spring summer planting season.  Utilize www.craigslist.com and www.freecycle.com for all the items you are ready to let go of.
