Book Review - Gravity Falls Pining Away

Gravity Falls Pining Away
 photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

About the Book
On the night of the Party at the Mystery Shack, Dipper discovers a way to clone himself and thinks he's found the key to finally wooing Wendy. But will Dipper muster up the courage to ask her to dance? Or will his clones get jealous and turn on him? Then, when Lil' Gideon knocks Mabel out of the "friend zone" and into the "romance zone," Mabel can't turn him down! Will Dipper help Mabel break up with Lil' Gideon? Or will Mabel become Lil' Gideon's lil' girlfriend? Readers will love this 112-page chapter book filled with black-and-white art from the show.

My Take on the Book
This book is written with two stories in one book. Each part is made up of chapters. The stories take place in Gravity Falls. I feel the stories would relate to children in third grade or above. The main characters are: Dipper, Gideon, Mabel, Pacifica, Wendy , and a few other characters who show up shortly.

The stories deal with issues that relate to children so the content would be interesting to them to read. The first story takes place at the Mystery Shack. A party is being held and Dipper wants Wendy to dance with him. Dipper creates some hilarious situations in order to try to speak to Wendy about dancing with him. It all ends well.

This book would be read orally or independently.

Help Lessen Scars with ScarAway

ScarAway

 photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

New ScarAway Daily Discs: Use the same advanced patented silicone technology as their larger sheet counterparts but come in a petite, round format that is perfect for smaller scars (such as those that result from biopsies, mole removal, and acne blemishes). They measure 1.375” in diameter and are ideal for scars one inch or less in diameter. They are easy to apply and virtually invisible. SRP $24.99 for a box of 30 discs (one-month supply).

New ScarAway Flex Long Sheets: Use new Flexisil™ technology to help shrink, flatten, and fade longer scars that may result from C-sections, tummy tucks, orthopedic procedures or other surgeries, as well as injuries and burns. Measuring 1.5 x 7”, they deliver slight direct pressure, and mimic the natural barrier function of healthy skin, diminishing the scar’s appearance and restoring skin to a more natural texture and color. With their superior stretching and adhesion capabilities, ScarAway Flex Long Sheets are ideal for scars located on or near joints and complement an active lifestyle. SRP $29.99 for a box of 6 sheets (two month supply).

My Take on These Products
We had a house fire a little over a year ago and my left had was severely burned. I spent a few days in a burn unit and I still have scars and believe that these will be with me for years to come. When I heard about this product I was intrigued. I tried these out over a period of time and came to find that it did seem to soften some of the areas of the scars that I had. I cannot say that they are gone, but it did help. I did not try this on smaller scar areas, but I believe that these will work well on them too. I found that the product for me worked best when I used the larger sheets and cut them to specific lengths, but every person will have to see what works best for them in the end. All-in-all I have been very impressed and will continue to use these in the future!

Protect Yourself and your Family from Mosquito & Tick-Borne Viruses this Summer

 photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

Warmer weather brings outdoor fun as well as pesky mosquitoes that potentially harbor dangerous viruses. We invite you to consider some inexpensive essentials that could offer more comfort and protection for your readers at home and on the go.

Insect Repellent and Soothing After Bite Treatment:

Natrapel 1 oz. pump spray - a DEET-free insect repellent that provides Natrapel® 8. 8+ hours of protection from biting insects and ticks. Natrapel is a safe and effective way to protect children from the nuisance of insects. Natrapel® 8-hour is completely safe on gear and will not melt jackets, fishing line, and other synthetic materials. 1oz. size is airline-approved so carry it on in a pocket, purse or bag. After Bite New & Improved – In case of a bite, don’t let it itching and scratching ruin the fun. After Bite's advanced formula with baking soda now provides even better relief for the whole family. For over 30 years, After Bite's pharmacist-preferred formula has provided instant itch relief for bites from mosquitoes, fleas, ticks and other common insects. The proprietary mix of soothing ingredients acts fast when you need it most. MSRP $3.99.

After Bite is easy to carry in a purse or stash in the car or a backpack, and is like a little magic wand that takes the “ouch” out of a bite to keep kids, moms and dads happy outdoors together.
We would love to send you our new After Bite insect bite treatment and Natrapel DEET-free insect repellent (both available in travel friendly sizes) in case you work on segments specific to summer preparedness – camps, picnics, BBQ’s, camping.

My Take on these products
We have a HUGE mosquito problem at our home and we live by a creek which makes it even worse! This spring has been worse than in past years and it makes us not want to send our kids outside. We also have had concerns about some of the chemicals that are in some of the mosquito sprays, so we truly appreciated trying out Natrapel.

In tryout out these products we were impressed with how well they worked. We had used the original After Bite and it worked very well, but the kids always complained that it stings when we put it on. The Kids After Bite however seemed to spot the itching without the sting which definitely makes us converts!

The Natrapel did what it says above, the spray went on smooth and was not sticky. What was best was that it kept the mosquitoes away and it did not have all of the chemicals that I have seen in some of the other sprays that we have used in the past which is always a positive thing in our books!

All-in-all if you are having issues with mosquitoes, I highly encourage you to try this out!

Raid Launches New Pest Control System

Raid Launches New Pest Control System

 photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

As the weather heats up, bugs begin making their way into weather-worn cracks and crevices created from the severe winter weather. Too often, consumers approach pest control as a reactive measure, when there are proactive options to help keep problems from arising. To help consumers solve their bug problems, Raid® is introducing the Raid® Defense System – a regimen of attack, control and prevent products and tips, as well as a suite of online tools. The website--raidkillsbugs.com—features a bug identifier, a product selector and comparison, and expert tips aimed to help general consumers and home owners.

Raid Launches New Pest Control System

My Take on the ProductsI was able to try out the products and was impressed at how fast these products work. With it being summer we always have problems with ants both in and out of the house. The products that I received had a wide mix of products that would help for both of these venues and they were so easy to use. I loved the battery powered ant/insect sprayer as it made it simple to apply around the house to make a barrier around all of our doors. The other problem that we have been having is inside of our house around the food dish for our cats, ants have been invading and we don't know from where. The ant traps were an inconspicuous way to solve our problem and allow us to provide a long lasting ant repellant solution. All-in-all we were VERY impressed with the results and we would be happy to try more products again in the future!

My Take on the Book
Sports Illustrated has written a book for children ( older children or you can read it to a younger child) who love sports. You will read about the athletes in each sport and their accomplishments.

Your child will be able to find information about Olympic athletes, rookies who made MVP, World Series and Super Bowl information, and more. The sports in the table of contents were: baseball, basketball, football, golf, hockey, Olympics, racing, soccer, tennis and x-treme.

My oldest daughter enjoys soccer . I see her reading the soccer section with much interest. There is information on the greatest soccer player of all: Pele. There is information about Mia Hamm an American soccer player who was inducted into the hall of fame in 2013.

So if you are searching for a book for your young athlete, you may want to check out this comprehensive book.
