Game Review - Pickle Everything Eat Your Words

Pickle Everything Eat Your Words

About the Game
  •   A WORD GAME WITH A TWIST! – Get ready for a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud guessing game where every answer starts with "C," "P," or "B"—but you MUST say "carrot," "pickle," or "banana" after your guess! Sounds easy? Just wait!
  • THINK FAST OR GET IN A PICKLE! – One player gives a clue, and the others race to shout out the right word with the correct food name. Mess up, and you’ll have everyone cracking up!
  • PERFECT FOR GAME NIGHT & PARTIES – Whether you're hanging out with friends or looking for a fun family game night challenge, this quick-thinking word game is great for 3-5 players who love a little competition.
  • QUICK 20-MINUTE PLAYTIME – NO TIME TO SLIP ON A BANANA! – The rounds are fast, frantic, and full of fun, making it perfect for players who love quick-witted, interactive games without long rulebooks.
  • A RIPE CHOICE FOR GAME LOVERS! – If you love word games like Taboo, Catch Phrase, or Scattergories, you’ll go absolutely bananas for this one! Makes a great gift for game night fanatics, party hosts, and wordplay lovers.

My Take on the Game
Eat Your Words caught me completely off guard—in the best way. I expected a quirky little word game, but what I got was full-blown silliness mixed with lightning-fast thinking. Every guess has to start with a "C," "P," or "B" and be followed by a food word like "carrot," "pickle," or "banana." It sounds manageable… until the pressure’s on, and suddenly your brain short-circuits trying to yell “beach carrot!” while everyone else is shouting nonsense. The chaos is absolutely the charm. We played with a group of four, and it quickly became a shouting match of hilarious wrong guesses and creative food fusions. Rounds are short, which kept the energy high, and no one ever got bored. It reminded me of games like Catch Phrase but with a weirder (and tastier) twist. If you like word games and don’t mind getting a little ridiculous, this one’s a must-play.

  • 🥒 PICKLES AND PETS? DON'T MIND IF WE DO! From fuzzy furballs to crunchy cucumbers, G'Nuzzle serves up two hilarious puzzle themes in one box! • ⏱️ 1 MINUTE TURNS, LIFETIME OF BRAGGING RIGHTS Each player has just one minute per turn to hustle, shuffle, and G’Nuzzle their pieces into play. Match your pieces with others or extend the puzzle board to outwit your opponents. First to finish, wins!
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FUN FOR 2 TO 4 PLAYERS, AGES 7 & UP Whether it's a duel or a full-on piece-flying frenzy, G'Nuzzle is built for 2 to 4 players ages 7+. It's a quick-thinking, family-friendly game that’s perfect for after dinner, parties, or weekend fun
  • 🎁 GREAT GIFT FOR GAME LOVERS & PUZZLE FANS Looking for a unique birthday gift, holiday surprise, or something new for game night? G’Nuzzle is the perfect mix of brainy and zany – with enough pizzazz to make Grandma giggle and Uncle Gary grumble!

My Take on the Game

I didn’t think I’d love a puzzle game, but G’Nuzzle totally won me over. It mixes the fun of traditional puzzles with the thrill of racing the clock and outsmarting your opponents. Each player gets their own set of pieces and just one minute to add to a shared puzzle, which makes every turn feel like a mini adrenaline rush. I really enjoyed the quirky themes—yes, there’s a whole puzzle of pickles in people clothes, and it’s as ridiculous as it sounds (in the best way). The colorful pet option was easier to navigate, but the green-tinted pickle chaos added an unexpected challenge. It’s quick to set up, easy to explain, and great for both kids and adults. Whether you’re into puzzles or just want something new for game night, G’Nuzzle brings energy, laughs, and just enough strategy to keep everyone engaged. Definitely keeping this one in the rotation!

    Game Review - Big Catch

     photo disclaimer_zpsd3x74ej2.jpg

    About the Game
    • FUN GAME PLAY: Save the fishermen lost at sea using your division skills. Help them reach home, catch fish, be friends with islanders and have fun in the surprise filled chase game
    • MATH SKILLS: Kids will get repeat practice of advanced division skills including division of 2 digit numbers with remainders
    • LIFE SKILLS: They also build 4 life skills like Strategic planning, Flexibility, Forward Thinking and Patience
    • FAMILY TIME: Super fun for kids and parents alike. A great way to bond over maths and have fun doing it
    • AGE 10+: Perfect gift for boys and girls 10 years and up or grade 5 and higher as they get introduced to division

    My Take on the Game
My youngest daughter who is nine loves math and likes to challenge herself. That being said, being in third grade they have not done a lot of division yet, so this game helped to introduce to her the concept much more than she has had in the past. That being said, for someone that has not had some division already, this game makes division make a lot more sense. For my daughter it was the concept of having to distribute fish equally that helped her to understand a bit more. The great thing about this game is that it feels like a game and not learning. So I won't tell my daughter if you don't! That being said, you will find that this game really works and I know I have seen great leaps in the comprehension and understanding that my own daughter has with division since using this great game and so will you!

Game Review - LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin

    LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin

     photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

    About the Game
There is a new threat in Ninjago, and he goes by the name of Ronin. With help from his army of dark samurai, Ronin steals the Ninjas' memories using an ancient weapon called the Obsidian Glaive. In LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin, it is up to players to help the Ninjas regain their memories and reclaim their powers before Ronin completes his plan and releases an even greater evil on Ninjago.

    Game Features
    • Battle through iconic locales from the LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu TV series, including the Ice Temple, the Toxic Bogs and Chen's Island.
    • Uncover the secret behind the Obsidian Weapons, ancient yet powerful tools.
    • Defend Ninjago from well-known enemies, including the Serpentine, Nindroids and more.
    • Drive, fly, stomp and slide your way through levels with an exciting array of bikes, jets, mechs and even dragons!
    • Unleash an elemental tornado to smash your way through enemies and solve puzzles. Team up and create the multi-elemental Tornado of Creation!

    My Take on the Game
We love the partnership that LEGO and Nintendo have and the games that they have created and thus we were very excited about this game coming out. We were excited not only because of LEGO, but also because it was Ninjago too.

In getting into the game itself. We had a blast trying this out. There was some great graphics and video interplay that let you better understand the game in general.

The story overall isn't too deep, but it does have some good laughs and it is original. I liked the vast amount of characters but I could see that if you did not know the TV series or the Ninjago characters in general that it might be a bit much to remember all of the characters.

The game has a ton of puzzles and such that you go through to get to the next level. Each level has some great open areas for finding studs as well as to unlock new characters. There are times when I found that I needed to replay the level to find everything, but I did find everything in the end.

The controls in the game varied from level to level. I liked that depending on the point in the level you were either on foot or in a vehicle. This made the levels fun and definitely different.

One of the final things I will mention is the length of the game. I found that the game itself was longer than other LEGO games, but this was definitely a good thing in my perspective. My girls and I had a blast playing this and I believe that you and your family will as well!

Game Review - Karma Card Game

    Karma Card Game
     photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

    About the Book
The inventor of FIVE CROWNS has done it again! Marsha Falco has created another delightful family game that unites generations. Packaged with the same size and look of the original line of games this elimination game has players locked in friendly competition that can turn completely around at the end of the game. Whether the Set line of games has been a best seller in your store for years or is a new addition, KARMA is a must-have for your card game section.
    Karma Card Game
    How to Play
KARMA is an elimination game where you have multiple winners and only one loser. The goal is to get rid of all of your cards. Play a card of equal or higher value to the previous played card or pick up the entire discard pile. Move through your hand faster by playing doubles or triples. A Karma Card, like a wild card, can be played at any time to get you out of a jam. But, be careful how Karma Cards are played because What Goes Around… Comes Around.

The KARMA card game is full of surprises right up to your last card played. It is a unique game because you are on a team with everyone and yet everyone is on a team against you. Two games can be combined to play with up to 12 players to add to the fun!

    My Take on the Game
I am always looking for new games that will engage and delight my family and recently I learned about a new company when playing another of their games Quiddler, while visiting a friends’ child in the hospital. I initially reached out to the company to inquire about reviewing this game, but was encouraged to try Karma, as they stated that it was a family friendly game and they thought that it would be a great fit.

I received the game the other day and have to say that they were right. The card game, was easy to setup and follow and I found that both young and old could comprehend and play the game without problems. Best of all though, the game was interactive and engaging and a ton of fun to play. While the game is not a long game per se, it is something that gets to be a bit addictive and we found ourselves wanting to play over and over again (yes, we are game fanatics).

All of this being said, if you like card games and enjoy games that are interactive and fun for the whole family, I highly recommend Karma to you and your family as I do not believe that you will be disappointed in the least.

Tenkai Knights: Brave Battle - Nintendo 3DS

    My Take on the Game
While I have not spent a lot of time watching this series, I can say that this game has some great graphics and game play that does connect in well with the parts of the television series that I have seen. One of the things that was fun about this game was the ability you have to customize your knight. There are a ton of options available for the player and you get to make your character stronger and thus make the game easier too in the end. My daughter and I liked the versus mode as we like to get a bit competitive against each other and this satisfied our need for this, at least a bit. All-in-all though this was a fun game that will bring you up-to-speed on the series and story (in story mode) or simply allow you to modify and play a fun game altogether for hours of fun!

Power Rangers Super MegaForce - Nintendo 3DS

    My Take on the Game
This game was definitely aligned with the television series as it allows you to be in control of some of the characters that you have come to love. The game graphics remind me a bit of some of my favorite street fighter games form the past (though with better game control and graphics). That being said though the game was a ton of fun and I loved being able to get into the game and simply have a blast. My eldest daughter and I played this together, with each of us taking a turn and we were a great team! We loved being able to play the different characters and the game play itself was challenging at times, but not too difficult and in the end the game was simply enjoyable, which is what we are looking for in a game!

    My Take on the Game
My daughters and I played this game last night and I have to say that we had a blast. We have played other games from Blue Orange Games in the past and have thoroughly enjoyed them, and this was the same. What we loved most about this game was the fact that you were able to create and match some very fun monsters. We played round after round and found that sometimes it was quick and sometimes it was drawn out, but it was fun none-the-less. The hardest part of the game was probably shuffling the cards as they are small, but that is not a big issue. This is a great game for a family game night, a sleepover or any other gathering as it gets people talking and having fun together!

Game Review - Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return Nintendo 3DS

Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return Nintendo 3DS

     photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

    About the Game
Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, a new video game companion to Summertime Entertainment’s 3D-animated musical film of the same name, is available now. Swept away from her home in Kansas once more, Dorothy and Toto must journey across the far-off, distant worlds of Oz to reach the Emerald City, teaming up with new friends and old to stop the mischievous Jester’s hold over the land in this fantastic adventure, available now on the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system. The Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return film opens nationwide on May 9, 2014 distributed by Clarius Entertainment.

Spanning thirty levels across five of Oz’s unique realms, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return is a combo-stacking, tile-matching puzzle game developed by Black Lantern Studios. Tiles earn experience the more they’re used, and combining leveled-up tiles with consumable power-ups is critical to clearing zones, winning boss battles and securing legendary scores. Filled with charming characters and unlockable artwork from the movie, the game is accessible enough for younger gamers to complete, but hitting a three-emerald high score across the board will prove a fun challenge for all ages.

Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return is available for Nintendo 3DS and is rated E (Everyone) by the ESRB. For more information, please visit www.game-mill.com.

    Game Features

    • Return to the yellow brick road and the merry old land of Oz and join Dorothy to set out on a fun-filled adventure to dethrone Jester and return peace to the realm
    • Solve entertaining puzzles and more across more than 30 levels on your Nintendo 3DS, which lends hours of replayability to keep you coming back for more
    • Try your hand at thrilling puzzles in four different game modes
    • Unlock cool content as you trek through the kingdom
    • Playable in 2D and 3D; 3D mode for ages 7 years and up

    My Take on the Game
This was a fun game with some great puzzles and adventures for you to go on with Dorothy and her friends. I liked the premise of the game and even though I had never seen the movie, the plot of the game itself was enjoyable and the action was engaging. Even though this said ages seven and up my youngest, who is 6.5, also enjoyed playing this and she found that it was not too difficult for her to keep up with. One of the things I liked most was that there were plenty of levels to explore and enjoy and each was just a little different than the rest which made the game fun and a bit challenging!

Game Review - VTech InnoTab Monsters University

    VTech InnoTab Monsters University
     photo disclaimer2_zps8af35ac1.jpg

    About the Book
The Scare Games are the biggest event of the year at Monsters University. Mike and the other Oozma Kappas need to win, or Mike and Sulley will get expelled. Read their story in the e-book, or help Mike and Sulley train for the Scare Games in nine learning games.

    Product Features

    • Help Mike, Sulley and others in the Scare Games
    • Nine games teach letters, math, memory and more
    • E-book tells the "Monsters University" movie story
    • Take and decorate photos with Monsters U stickers and frames (compatible with any InnoTab system with a camera)
    • Works with all InnoTab systems

    My Take on the Book
What I loved about this game was that it followed the movie quite well and provided some great learning games that for my daughter who is in kindergarten was perfect. The games were intuitive and allowed her to practice both things that she knew already but also challenged her too. All of this was supported by characters from the Monsters University movie which she loved too. I think the Scared Card Club is still probably her favorite, but I have to say that for me, mine was probably the Toxicity challenge. All of the games within were fun and engaging and provided great learning that can be taken on the go! All-in-all this was a great game for my daughter and seeing how much she has learned already, I will definitely be looking at future Innotab learning games in the future to support her education and I highly encourage you to do the same for your own child!

Nancy Drew - The Silent Spy

    My Take on the Game
What a great new addition to the Nancy Drew Games for your PC. I have been a fan of these games for some time and I have to say that each seem to be getting just a bit better and the plots become just a bit more complex and fun! I found the puzzles to be challenging for myself, and even at the easier level, my daughter still had to work to accomplish what she wanted.

The graphics in the game rocked and the people providing the voices did a great job at portraying the characters that they were supposed to be. The game is not a quick one and you do have to work at solving the game and it will take a bit of time, so be patient, it is worth the wait.

This game will keep you on the edge of your seat and will challenge your sleuth skills. For my daughter and I neither of us were disappointed at all and I don't think you will be either.

The only downside to the game in my opinion is that I would have liked to have been able to explore the world outside of the hotel buildings, but alas, it was not meant to be.
