About the Book
It's February 2 and all the animals are tired of winter. But why should the groundhog always be famous for seeing his shadow? Who else wants to try? A chicken? A polar bear? A camel?
None of those seems quite right. So who will see their shadows this year?
My Take on the Book
Well we have Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, etc, but does anyone know about Ground Hog's Day?
There is a myth surrounding the day that says if the Ground Hog sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter.
Well this humorous and so delightful story will introduce your child to many animals and weather conditions. All the animals want to make a shadow and bring spring. You will see such humor in their expressions and antics and David Bierdrzycki , the illustrator, does an amazing job of bringing those expressions to life in the book.
Does the ground hog really bring spring or winter? Well, at least you can enjoy the fun of imagining the outcome with the animals and the actual ending of the book.
