My Take on the Book
As someone that watched Krist Yamaguchi skate when I was young I loved the grace she brought to the ice. She has truly captured this grace within this very fun book. What I loved about the book is that it is not just about skating, but instead it has a more important message which is the importance of being kind. We try to teach this concept to our kids on a daily basis so having other ways, through reading, that we can incorporate into our teachings is always a plus.
On top of the important message you also get amazing images that just pop off the page. My girls, while older than the reading demographic still loved to hear the story and we had a great conversation about kindness after reading the book as well!
